Yeah I need to go back and find pictures of peoples Aussie grows.
That’s what these ones I’m doing now are and they’ve been completely different from the jambo and wildcoast every step of the way.
I was gonna clone and go from there but idk if that’s a good move with sketchy genetics. Hopefully they’ll come in more normally in a couple days and it won’t be an issue.

Are cow dung pellets really not suitable to use for pans? Heard from someone that they compost quickly.

Going off my experience with pellets I'll only be using them as a last resort. They aren't fun to work with.

Maybe not fun to work with, but I'm getting excellent results.
Here's my Cyan clone pulling off a decent THIRD flush. Mind you I have harvested some ~8g dry already. This looks like another 4 almost.

All on cowshit + sawdust substrate, maybe half a liter of spawn.

Hello again pan cult!
Say you built a mono with a hole in the center of its bottom, through that hole you pass a gardening hose which is connected to a faucet. Then you apply your sub and casing material while having increased holes to up the fae. Then you turn on the faucet whenever you want to water the sub and the casing, avoiding sprinkling your shrooms and killing them in the process. This way you afford to up the ambient heat and evaporation and once dialed in, you practically never have to worry about your sub and casing drying out.
What do you think? Anyone tried something similar before? Give me your opinions, I might try this later on.

Thanks for the encouragement guys! I'm going to get a couple Cube grows going to get the feel for some of the basics (working in my SAB, a2a, a2g, monitoring surface conditions, etc.) and jump on into the world of Pans. I've read about 150 pages from here so far and it's kind of amusing to me hearing how hard of a time people have sourcing poop. I've got quite a few horse stables, cattle farms, and dairy farms that raise goats/sheep within a 15 minute drive of my house, which is a big reason I wanted to jump into Pans!
Thanks again. Cheers, mates!

I'm using hardwood sawdust bricks. Contains both tiny and relatively large particles.

If sawdust works, I wonder is hemp or flax straw could work as well ?
The reason I'm curious is, that these types of straw can hold a lot more moisture than wheat straw - at least in the area where people normally use them, to keep rodents and rabbits an stuff.
I guess like all things, one must try to know.
Because the topic of manure has come up in recent posts. I can repeat again that my experiment with Alpaca manure worked. So in case you find nothing else, you can try that. It is rather expensive though. USA source:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/ALPACA-FERTILIZER-AIR-DRIED-NATURAL-ORGANIC-MAGIC-BEANS-POOP-2-LB-BAG/254550338839?hash=item3b4461ed17:g:nFcAAOSwMsZdLQsQ
If you buy on ebay, you can buy horse or cow manure there as well, like here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/10-Lbs-Dried-Chopped-Cow-Manure/124460800728?hash=item1cfa711ad8:g:7YwAAOSw6qheVvin
But I can say Alpaca manure makes mushrooms, too
I suppose manure from every vegetarian animal will work.

Why wouldn't they work? Never heard of anyone using Flax straw, but hey - Pans are opportunists. I have seen a pic of them growing naturally off a pile of Rice straw.

I’ve been digging around the super old threads the search pulls up and people have been having problems with specifically the Aussies for at least 15 years lol.
Kinda made me feel better especially since the few pictures I found the pins look the same as mine so I guess it’s a trop thing.
Also god damn blue helix’s been at this forever! Apparently people grew pans a lot differently 15 years ago. Still killer flushes but the surfaces were all myc and no casing.

I had some absolutely killer Aussie grows a while back and could kill myself for letting the cultures go. I have tried reviving it many times, and even from the old prints I've found, nothing but midget fruits.
