I use the verm to fluff up the manure mostly.
Verm is super cheap compared to coir but nothing beats the 50lb bag of manure for $2.50. If I was growing serious bulk cubes I’d definitely build a big barrel pasteurization thing cuz coir is at least 20x the price.
I did run mostly coir with some manure added before but both tubs didn’t do well and took forever. It was probably the spawn but almost all the straight coir/grain grows I’ve seen yielded way less.
A quart of spawn to manure makes three shoeboxes easy.

Well it’s been almost 13 days since I cased the first Aussie tray.

They look way different than the jambo or wild coast did. I’m used to seeing clusters popping all over but hopefully that’ll come over the next few days. Just for future reference it’s been on the cold side in room and they dont seem to mind. I did set the heater up the other day but the temps been about 65-72 mostly.
Shoebox is getting grown in nicely

Time to crank the fae

I'm watching your grow with interest a.k.a
I saw the first signs of life in my LC -> straw/manure/verm jars.
And my little tubs of rye -> straw/manure/verm are waking up. I screwed up the ratios though so I think there's too much grain in there.
I've got two more jars I'm hoping to spawn today and hope to get the ratios a bit better.

Hello! What is the consensus on drying cyans? Does heat "kill off" the psilocin or not? It seems the opinions are divided on the matter. There is also serotonin in cyans, how much is it affected by heat?

Why would it kill it in pans and not other species? And yeah, you gotta watch out for that tricky serotonin, don't want that in your brain

It does kill psilocin in cubes but its in smaller amounts than pans therefore not nticeable.

I'm pretty sure everyone uses dehydrator around 160 degrees for cubes, pans, azzies, wavy caps and everything else. I could be way off base but I'm pretty sure I'm not on this one
And serotonin is naturally occurring in your brain, thats like saying "if I'm having a good day should I trip?"

If you eat serotonin though, it can cause serious stomach upset and vomiting. Maybe not enough of it in Pans but they certainly are nauseating at higher doses for whatever reason.

Tea with ginger and lemon balm help with nausea a lot. Thing is, the trip quality is reduced a bit imo. Lemon tek will give you the full experience but it comes at a cost to the guts. But the upside is you're tripping so hard there's not much of you left to care.

What is tje best way to preserve pans. I'm sure I read make tea and freeze it, bit I would be thought the heat from the water would've degraded the psilocin just as badly as the dehydrator would.
Also read that white vinegar is a good solvent for psilocin. Not sure about shroomy vinegar tho...

Lemon Balm has calming effects (GABA receptors AFAIK), so yea it could reduce the intensity.

Dehydrators don't hurt potency. I dried mine at full blast and they are enormously potent still.

I would be more worried about the psilocin long term.

I know psilocybin will keep. its the psilocin that'd I'm curious about preserving. I can say I've never tried pans and I'm sure they're potent with or without the psilocin but it's always gonna be better with it.

I mean if psilocin survives the drying session, then what danger is there long term provided the fruits stay sealed in air tight jars with some dessicants?
