I do a lot of species but mostly agar work lately. I've cloned some wild ganodermas, Turkey tail, COTW, oysters. I have some ATL #7 finally germinated after 2 months of trial. And gona streak some semperviva today. And a few cubes also...

Here's the new FC
Those closing pieces create a 2mm gap
Under it there's a heat bomb set at 27°C
And the containers are buried in wet peat moss that keep the humidity up.

You guys have any idea what these are ? I was just going through old dishes before throwing most of them away. Some of them seem to have these stones. This plate was the biggest though. The texture is like Galindoi stones but not quite as hard. Smell is like Pan mushrooms exactly. They are almost black.
Can they be eaten ? Are they potent ? If so, is there a way to propagate their growth ? Imagine having something making stones as well as Galindoi but as potent as Pans - that would be the holy grail of psilocybin production at home I reckon !
Or are these just some sort of reaction to bacterial contamination ?

They pop up occasionally, i cloned one and never got around to running it but it pinned crazy clusters on the plate after a while so I think it would’ve been good.
Sorry friedegg I forgot the first time.
I don’t sift it I just break up any bigger chunks. It does have some inch long stick type things but nothing crazy. I use spawn and was sterilizing it but it kept going moldy after the first flush. My last run I pasteurized and it went five flushes so I’m sticking with that.

Cased the Aussie two days ago, seems to be loving it more than the manure.

Almost time to drop it in the fc.
Had some pasteurized sub left over so I figured I’d try a new container out. Pasteurized manure smells so gross after sitting for a week.

Fried egg here’s what my manure looks like when I scoop it out .

thanks. my bagged manure has big sticks like that too. i've always spent 20 minutes removing all the sticks but it's good to know it doesn't matter. you really don't even bother removing the 2" long ones? or do you just remove some big ones that catch your eye?

Not really. I can only remember picking out a couple sticks that were like pinky finger sized. But it’s only been two or three through probably 20 pounds.
Jiffy mix I do sift through, I hate having big sticks or chunks in my casing.
Mychunt yours is probably straight manure instead of the composted kind. Idk cuz I’ve never added straw to see but I assume the plant matter from being composted is good for the pans.

I've seen those on my plates too. I assume they are some type of sclerotia. I have taken them off old plates cut them in half and placed the cut side down and the culture jumps off and runs across the plate like it just woke up!
My guess is that they can be eaten and they would probably be quite potent.
I am a noob in all things... so you should wait for a second opinion.

My Cyan clone is growing, the pinset is not uniform but rather forming dense clusters. I'm also having bacteria problems on the fruits (Pseudomonas?). The bacteria may be a casing issue, but for sure they don't like these low-ish temperatures. In summer they would have matured already.

This Nec D is beastly. I think I may have a couple of 5g's in there.

A few clone candidates here.

Yeah, the pic doesn't really do them justice. Would have preferred smaller fruits arranged in a nice canopy Good cloning ops though. Excited for it.
