I can get fresh hpoo for free from a nearby stable just fill up as many 5gallon buckets as I want but I don’t want to have to dry it out. I pay for my laziness. But for the US eBay has a hpoo product that’s name is “aged horse manure mushroom substrate” or something like that. And that stuff is perfect. When you break it up it just feels like super fine chopped straw great texture. 12$ free shipping for 8 lb I think and if your cutting it with st w anyway it lasts for ever.

Stall poo probably has tons of cedar (for pee smell) in it. Ex-girlfriend is a horse trainer and that's what they do in these parts.

She said that she could provide a bag so I can walk the paddock and fill it for 5$. Problem solved. Bag holds just over 40lbs.

You just have to know if the stalls are straw beds or wood chip beds and are they fed straw

I personally use pelletized cowshit, which is unaged. I just soak it and squeeze the water out. Pasteurize, and that's it. I don't see any problem.

Hi Folks When I sprayed the Spinosad last night there were a 100 or more fungus gnats crawling around on the casing of a 16 quart sweater box. They had been infesting that box (a Psilocybe Mexicana var. Chicon Nindo) for about two weeks and it was getting worse. I had infestations in my last two Pan trays (RDU & Pan Hawaiian Rainbow Eucalyptus) also.
I'm happy to report that this morning there is ZERO signs of life in that sweater box. I'm expecting that there might be another hatch of larva in a few days to a week so I will hit it again if need be but the good news is that the Spinosad seems to be a good intervention for the fungus gnats.
For those who are unfamiliar with this... it is a biological agent - basically a bacterium that creates toxins that knock out insects and their larva. The data on risks to humans is solid - very low toxicity.
It seems a bit expensive but a little goes a long way - you create a dilute solution and spray that on your casing or soil or plants. I sprayed some directly on some maturing mushrooms and so far there seems to be no noticeable affects to them.

Not all stall manure has fungicides in it. If he's getting it from his own stalls then he'll know what's in it. And he also wouldn't be selling it as mushroom substrate if it had fungicides in it I would not think?? Check the reviews you know somebody already have to buy it and test it

Alabama growing out beautifully on germ plate.

I normally only nocc, one plate at a time and then take as many T1's as I can. However I read, a little way back that it's better to do a couple of germ plates with pans. Why would this be? Surely there's thousands of pairs in ones germination colony or it is it more to do with germination success rates?
I think I've probably just answer my own question, but I've typed it out now, so have it!

I'm getting g the field manure so it doesn't matter. There's no reviews anyway because it's just some lady with a horse farm and an ad.

I think the reason for dilute spores and multiple plates is because myc selection is more important with pans so you want a lot of clear colonies to choose from.
It’s about that time. Gonna case in the morning, this thin myc is still tripping me out I keep waiting for it to thicken up. Same with the jar. It seems to get dense on sunflower seeds and certain burst grains.

Beautiful Sub there VL
Is it true what they say about Goliath... do they seem to grow bigger on average than other Paneaolus Cambodginiensis?
In other news I found a research paper backing up my experience with the Spinosad. As expected they did come back, but in much smaller numbers, I expect after a few applications they will be gone.

Hi Pan People Our buddy Adas has sent me a bunch of prints of the Pan Cyan Bunnell Florida that he was raving about in here... to send out to you folks. his grow log:::::
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26968931
I already have 8 that are previously committed to people who sent me PMs about it before they arrived. I will send 5 more outside of the US and 5 more within the US. This offer is for folks who have been in here a while and demonstrated their Pan cultivation chops. If you'd like a print and you have the chops send me a PM.
If you are a newcomer to the Pan scene and you'd like to have a go at trying them, shoot me a PM and I'll send you either a Red Down Under print or a Hawaiian Rainbow Eucalyptus print. (first 5 PMs).
Commence PM Pandemonium!

Awesome giveaway Psilo
I may have nuked my "real" pan attempts so far, but at least I woke up to some surprise pan cinctulus pins forming today!

Maybe 50-60 knots/primordia in the box suddenly so maybe I'll have enough to stock up some prints for further sclerotia study and a bioassay... My "blue pearls " jars are being totally taken over by stones, meanwhile... Debating fruiting them/leaving them be...
