eBay actually has some good manure if you go for the right stuff. Make sure it’s aged and dried and on one of them in the description it says straw fed straw bedding and can be used for mushrooms.

Awesome that makes me feel better. Plus it’s a new type of pan for me so that’s always fun.

Is there anything that I should be doing a little different for them temp or moisture wise? Tropicalis makes it sound like it would need hot and humid the whole time.

The Aussie trop  may be the easiest going pans over ever grown actually. It’s the same parameters as cyans though

Here’s a few more bisp from that tray I mentioned before I don’t think it will do much better than this but I just dropped another into FC and I got my cycles all dialed in

Got two pounds of bisporus spawn ready for sub. Gonna have to cook up a boat load. Not sure why I did that it was last bag to inoculate and I had all the Other injected and had that bisp LC just sitting there so figured what the hell.

I just streaked some bisporus and cambos from syringes. How long should I wait before streaking again if nothing wakes up?

dying to eat 2 grams of these.. for the weekend.

got my bisphorus tent finally dialed in, i think.. 'for my environment'.  before recently all my pins where stunted; the joc wasn't getting enough fresh air.  these are multispore, have tons of isolates i'll be pinning and tracking over next few weeks..  sure i hope i got things dailed in before i run those.. i'm shooting for low 70* fruiting, i'll use extra air to force more evaporation..

What do you mean by pinning and tracking?

Yay!
I’m excited to see them!

A while back I mentioned I was struggling with fungus gnats (at least that’s what I think they are).
I tried sprinkling diatomaceous earth on the surface and that didn’t seem to help.

Someone recommended peppermint essential oil or cinnamon. I didn’t have the oil and I saved my cinnamon for hot cider.

I did some research and found that on some mushroom farms they spray spinosad on the casing layer to kill the larva. Apparently it is safe on vegetables and they use it on mushroom farms... and I happened to have some in the garage.

Applied it tonight. I hope to have a good report here in a few days.
Due to the life cycle of these guys it may take two or three spaced out applications to fully eradicate them. Given the love damp compost, I’m surprised there isn’t more discussion of them...

Damn son. I've bought this electric UV lamp against gnats. It doesn't help shit, doesn't even attract them. What's more surprising, it doesn't even attract fucking mosquitos. Useless crap. And I was so hopeful...

Somebody was just spraying a specific bacteria onto their casing to kill gnats too. Crazy stuff.

I have that bacteria too. I haven't found it effective so far but maybe I just applied it wrongly. It's BTI, I have it on agar.

Ok so I have access to some wet hpoo that has been rained on a couple times. It is fairly new poo, not field aged at all. Will this be ok? If not, can I leech it somehow?

I’m no expert here but I hear you can accelerate that process by spreading it out on a screen and applying water a few times and letting it dry out in between.
Hell I’d simmer a batch in a big pot and then pour it out on a screen to see if I could leach it in one go...

That would smell awful. Josex, why don't you order some of that ebay hpoo? I can't order anything like that here in Canada, if I could I definitely would. No trouble and no prep, comes to you aged, dried, and ready to hydrate.

I think I'm going to be spreading the poo on my strainer, put the thing in the backyard on sawhorses, give it a good watering with the hose and leave it there open air to enjoy the fucking awesome sun we always have here. I'll hose it down again as soon as it dries out a bit and will keep doing this for some days.
