I'm not trying to start a political argument, just speculate and inform how I feel about things.

If next week we have a new president, you bet your ass I'm never showing up to those things. Harris is a cop and she'll be president within a year.

If we have the same president? Then I'm assuming civil unrest and maybe even upheaval will be in the future and in that case I'm 1000% booking a hotel room in circus circus, just to keep it cool with the fear and loathing aspect.

Honestly I was really surprised how easy pans actually are. There’s a super steep learning curve and its basically a pass/fail type thing but once you put in the bit of initial work to figure them out you’re set.

It was super intimidating at first selecting myc, using manure and a fogger and stuff but now it’s really no different than a tub of cubes. Mix it up and check on it occasionally in case it needs adjusting.

I totally agree with it being a good thing you gotta do some work to get them Jake. Anybody who puts in the time to learn pans is probably going to be the type to be careful with them.

I definitely agree with that. All my pan grows have been successful and I can't say that about cubes. Especially in the summer time.

Ahaha I'm a trump supporter I wouldn't want Joe in office. honestly I feel like I'm voting for who's going to do less damage to America. Both political candidates I don't like. I'm a Ron Paul kind of gal. Fair tax!

that would be cool... i would totally be down!!!

most of my pan grows have had limited success. sure i can get them to fruit and all but nothing quite like the success i've seen. i'm using jcm fruiting chamber and so far my estero pans are looking good. my other 2 trays haven't started pinning yet.  🤞

edit, i just checked and there's pins on the other 2 trays

I feel like it's lose lose and I'm doing the same thing I did in '16 and throwing my vote away into the libertarian party. I just want them to maintain ballot access and hopefully in 2024 shit's kind of corrected its course enough that maybe they'll have a real chance?

That's my optimism. But I'm also gonna make this my last post about politics to go back to being on topic.

When selecting myc from the germination plate, do you just grab the sections that germed first/grow the quickest?

I'm a total noob at pans so big chunks of salt required: I cut out each of the germ points as they grow, and move to another plate. I think it was jcm who said he did this. Then on the T1 plate you can assess for speed + morphology without the confusion that usually comes with a germ plate. Interested in what the other pros have to say.

I've had bad luck with Bisporus. Horrible yields and pinning starts a MONTH from casing. While Cyans are beyond easy, and high-yielding.

Well that's about as good an answer as I could hope for. Sound.
Here's a harder one, Texas or Alabama cyans? I know nothing of the varietal differences.

Cool, I'll  keep my eye out.
In the meantime I'll run the Texas as I've always liked cowboys.
I'm ridiculously keen to start, I don't think I was this keen with cubes. Maybe it's the fact I feel like they'll give me a "proper/more overwhelming" trip

Texas moves faster than but Alabama is bigger. Bisporus is bigger than all cyanescens and gives a slightly different experience but still as powerful.
It's a fast colonizer but it takes it's time to fruit.

Ok sound, if I wanted to germ all three I assume I can chuck em in the fridge, like cubes, and then run them one at a time.
