yes pretty much taped them shut with masking tape apart from a 2-3mm gap at the top of the hole, on one tub I taped them up completely, it's the one on the left I think.

What kind of humidity do you have in your room? Those are definitely the best mono pans I’ve seen. Makes sense about doing it during summer, heat definitely helps the humidity inside the tubs.

Now I'm wondering the same thing I keep wondering if anyone has the humidity that I live in down south with 70% average*. This makes me want to buy a bunch of tubs and do a pastywhite tek but for pans run 15 tubs all different hole sizes all same culture and see what happens. If your taping it. I figure a 1/2 whole two on each side and a 3/8 on top should do the trick. Extra wet case. Hmmmm guess time to start the pc up and go-to big lots mama needs some new mini tubs.

I make my own GH before Jake wrote that TEK.
Very similar but without any HEPA filters involved.
Thanks for the nice comments
These are not Pan cambo btw.

Sorry, I have no idea, my place is drafty AF and I would assume that humidity fluctuates with what is happening outside. Never measured it but the internet says 50-65% in the sommer month.
I had the monos in a closed room with no windows open and it was hot that summer, it was probably in the low 30's Co in that room during the day. I remember being worried that the pans will cook in their own juices. So keen to get them going again but also working on getting all my cultures and spores to grain for dehydration purposes (-> longterm storage) and woodlover outdoor patches in by backyard but I hope I can get a couple of tubs done next time.

sounds like a plan. I think it's that big plume of warm moisture hovering over the sub with some air coming in and going through the sides that makes it work. At least that's my uneducated guess lol

I'm going to have a crack at SS's 'easy as cubes' approach to pans. However, I can't find much details on the tub setup. Does anyone have any info on what he used to grow pans like this?

I just control the temp of the room, however the tub in the jock tech has automated air intake so you could possibly instead of having additional holes cut in the sides like a traditional mono you may be able to set the tub in a second tub and create a hot water bath using an electronica water heater that you seal in place on the outer tub you would have to play with the air intake a little bit and make sure your getting enough air And it would change the thermodynamics since air would not be able to escape off the surface but I did make a tub like this work with cubes but that doesn’t mean it would work with pans. I would start with a heating mat under your tub and see how that goes

Also in my experience you don’t have to keep the temperatures super high throughout the entire grow I jack the temperature up to the high 70s - low 80s until I see pins (3-5days) then I just keep the room around 70 for the rest of the grow, And not everything runs at once i usually just follow majority whatever cycle most of the trays are in and run temp for them. it doesn’t seem to hurt the other trays but it does help me pull up a more full pin set at once

Another questions since I already asked for you attention.
I scored for me a lot of horse poo, shredded and dry. How do I store it? In a bucket? Closed lid or not? Any thing to thing about?

Lol yeah getting pins is pretty easy the trick is keeping them going. I’ve ruined a few by forgetting to refill the fogger, or dialing it down to speed evaporation and forgetting to turn it back up after a few hours.
Usually they seem to flush again fine, if it doesn’t pin after a couple days really soaking it seems to trigger it.

Does fully colonized grain look as solid white with these as it does with cubes?
