But I say it in terms of "wispy & fast". If I am not seeing that, I don't make additional transfers looking for it to happen all of the sudden.

Oh yes absolutely, But if you have a fast wispy growing culture transferring it to additional plates within reason does not negatively affect it at least in my experience now if you continue to transfer for months & months They start to loose their vigor, but you def don’t need to worry about Making too many transfers in trying to pull a clean culture from a streak plate

I sure as fuck haven’t been gettin it over the summer I can tell ya that lol last summer either but things are picking back up again now, the new filter in the hood is making a huge difference already. I think that was my main problem, My filter was contaminated my contamination rate all summer was really high but I think even the ones that did pass and went on to grain were still carrying some contamination with them which is why my trays were turning so fast

Got 4 jars of pan spawn of different varieties and I’m trying to work out this fucking pastuerization issue before I spawn any of them. Making the sub and letting it sit for a few days to make sure it’s alright. Aggravating

The Panaeolus Cyanescens var Hawaiian Rainbow Eucalyptus (luv the cyans) Is still growing ... not exactly a canopy but I’m happy with the early showing. It’s wild how the start out black and turn light tan.
The other one is Panaeolus Tropicalis Red Down Under (thank you JCM) just starting to come in...

Put some Pan Hausteca spores to agar just now.
Im testing the fc and it's working pretty good so far to my own surprise.

New timers are expected soon and I'll finally be able to digitally set the time to dial in cycling with any precision.

Do you mean the tree or the Panaeolus Cyanescens specimen that provided the spores? In the first case I believe the rainbow eucalyptus is from Tasmania and imported to many places in the world. The pan cyan specimen was collected by shroomery member Luv_The_Cyans somewhere in the Hawaiian islands while he was there for his wedding or honeymoon.

Oh that’s awesome.
I meant the pan, it’s one of the kinds I’ve got on plates right now but it seems like all the pans are named by location except this one.

I’m not even sure that’s a “name” - I just tacked it on there. We should probably just call it Panaeolus Cyanescens var. Hawaiian. Or ask Luv_The _Cyans what he wants to call it since he collected the specimen. I’ll be curious to see if yours com up looking very dark at the pin stage.
On a more general note...
Does anyone in here have a tek they recommend for cloning these tiny little things (pans) ?

So, I think/hope my agar worries are unfounded. I went to fruit my pan-cakes today, and they smelled like almond, no sign of contam yet. Hope this works!

I ran a largish 8qt tray. got two strong flushes before contam set in. About 2oz dry. For 8 quarts of sub there was only 2 quarts of spawn though. The sub had another quart maybe of grain that hadn't been spawned though.
