I have about 20 monocultures and counting :/
i'm running pure dehydrated manure.. i was about to grow each good mono side by side, 1 tray straw/manure 1 tray pure manure..
Is there any reason to cut manure?

What if mono is all you have? You know that feel when you have bulk jars at the ready but the grain jars are taking their sweet time.

I have like 10-15%max rh and can run pans fine with a tub and a fogger. The fog is absolutely crucial though.
I think the low humidity is actually a benefit with pans once you learn how to use it. Crazy good evaporation.

Hello fellow Panarchists!
Since i had a really awesome pan cyan trip in january, i decided i need to finally start growing (especially Pans) myself. So i started out with waylitjims pf-tek, which led to rather meager results, which led to get acquainted with cubes first.
Now that i have some okayish/satisfying cube grows under my belt, and succesfully mastered some needed skills (isolating with agar in a sab, grain jar transfers, making LC's, growing with shoeboxes, sterilizing/pasteurizing stuff etc.) i wanted to finally tackle my end game: Pans And so i did.
I have a few questions regarding my pan jam tray ( isolated a supposedly okayish strain, made a few pan grain jars with rye berries, spawned to bulk with straw, horse manure, verm and a bit of gypsum):
Does this look okay to you guys? (same tray, different perspective)

I think it looks really beautiful, although i know/read that it may turn into a bit of a problem as its not really as whispy as pan myc should look (i read about pan jam overlay issues...and im still not sure if there's an solution it, except isolating further. In this case i already thought to have isolated the most desirable whispy specimen and not his more cottony brothers.) Since Failure is a reliable way to learn i cased anyway to look how that will turn out(cased thinly with pasteurized 50/50 peat/verm + a sprinkle of lime as suggested by asura). (again: same tray, different perspective)

(i also made some tiny pf-jars as you can see...and hope it's not getting too crowded...yup, i have space issues)
So...regarding the peat: I tried to emulate the casing recipe as best as i could but im still not sure if i did something wrong. The Problem i have is that i found sphagnum peat only in brick form (like coir, only smaller) which normally should be mixed/dissolved with/in water, like coir. Since that wasnt mentioned in the recipe i weighed both (p+v) in dry form broke it in little pieces, mixed it really well, added water with lime as suggested and mixed again. And then i added a bit more of water since it was rather on the dry side. In the end it felt like it reached field capacity, maybe a bit drier than that. Could that turn into a problem?
Another advice would be appreciated regarding the rest. I have another (colonized) pyrex tray laying around + 9 other cakes (also colonized) which wait to be fruited. I guess i overbooked myself a tad. No room left in my rather smallish sgfc (see pics above). But i dont really want to make another sgfc due to space problems, and wanting to do monos in the long (but also near) run. So i thought about about putting the tray in and the rest of the cakes in a mono? Would that work? And if so, would putting some perlite in at the bottom help with RH?
Any other ideas how i can salvage the rest of the stuff (i guess it's not a good idea to let them wait too long for their real purpose) would be greatly appreciated.
Btw: Special thx to Fantastic Mr. Fox, Asura, Blue Lotus, Waylitjim and all the other Pan Masters whose nicks i forgot. Without reading your advices, logs etc. i wouldnt have been able to pull this off (even though i just started) in such a quick time span! Can't thank you guys enough for sharing your knowledge!

Looks to be cased with sphagnum moss, not peat.

Shit, is sphagnum moss different? The terms seemed to be used interchangeably when I was shopping for it.

Peat is decayed moss and is prolly 5-10x cheaper. It’s also acidic whereas the moss is neutral.
