That’s what I was suspecting but wanted to confirm. I know they mostly grow in well fertilized lawns

Pans are beginning to be a pain but the struggle is real without agar, plates, and wedges.

Yeah running a manure sub from spore with something that benefits from myc selection doesn’t sound like a great time.
If you’ve got brf you should use that for agar.
Celestial was it you that grew cinct recently? Did you try them??

No I had a lot of other stuff going on with family coming and going and had to take down the tent for awhile and put that cinct tray a small sfgc to try to let it finish out but it just stopped growing and eventually I chucked it. Got one good fruit which I printed and now that made that spawn with. The first cinct culture I had was a really good one and made a pretty nice pin set so I knew it was good genetics. Just that questionable spot there so I just spawned it to an outdoor tub with straw/hpoo/coir and we shall see. Pulled it right out the bag cuz fuck it I have a lot of interesting projects coming up on the spawn run and I need the room anyway

Most need agar for pans but there are a few gods among us
Quote:
Procedure: Inoculation of liquid culture: Scraped a spore print with backside of a sterile scalpel to lift up some of the spores. Dabbed the loose spores with a sterile cotton tipped applicator and stirred the spores into LC. Stirred on stir plate at low to moderate setting, temperature ~75-80F. for 12 days

Sounds like luck to me don’t get me wrong I’ve gotten away with stuff like that in the beginning but I prefer not to take my chances now. I’ve learned my lesson

agar should be used on every species not just pans. no matter what its never ever ever a wise idea to go directly to grain or LC or any other method used without first making sure yoh have a clean culture to start with. no matter what clean spawn/inoculant is the most important ingriedient in any grow period. anyone can get lucky and i promise for those who practice in corner cutting and other ill advised methods have at least 1 bad tammed out grow maybe more to show for every good grow and i dont know about yall but i dont like those odds 1 bit.

Does anyone run pans at 68-72? I wanna put my cambo spores on agar but it’s gonna be getting cold by the time I get em clean enough to use I bet. Don’t want the space heater to run my power bill up lol

that's a little on the cold side for pans but as long you're not trying to fruit in that range you should be fine. mycelium will probably grow at a slower rate as well.
