no moisture was spot on and i havnt misted since when i put them in the fcs. im hoping they will maybe do what them peace rivers did and just put up normal shit on the 2nd flush🤷🏼 eithr way ima ket em run just cuz i got nothing else goin at the moment. i did re streak rdu plates along with phv yesterday tho so while im waiting on those and the whole process im just gnna let these trays run and see what happens. i had thought maybe they were too dry but i cut into 1 and its just about as good as can b and colonized nicely thru also. so im just thinkn its the losing end of ms. its got pins all over the place they r just little needle fruits is all and not even as good as these bamas
i mean they r even worse lookin than these right now. but like i said wel c what happens with later flushes but i just know what it mean when im seein the pins im seeing and the end result isnt good

So even with that trich patch I was able to pull about 70 prints. I smothered it in hand sanitizer (just what I had near by I know other things will also work) and that bought me another 12 hours to let the caps finish opening. I’ve then went & deep cleaned my fogger system again it’s only a few weeks from the last time I rebuilt it with the new hosing and everything but in the summer especially it gets funky fast even with hydrogen peroxide splashed in every few days

jcm in one of those pics, a fruit body appears to be dropping dark colored spores. is this the case so far with most of those fruits?

yes i'm aware all pans normally drop black spores hence the reason i pointed out that rdu tray was dropping dark colored spores. i wasn't sure if perhaps rdu drops both?

I'm getting conflicting info on pasteurizing casing layers if you're working with the cactus mix or jiffy you sprinkle right out of the bag or you pasteurize first? The Mack Daddy RR said he never pasteurizes his casings, then in another post he says to pasteurize. I'm thinking it's tougher to measure 1/8th inch at field capacity.

you pasteurize casings. i've seen all kinds of things over the years but a properly pasteurized casing will out perform any other casing.

No I run about 5 gallons of water a day that would Get expensive fast plus distilled water is nothing but recollected evaporated water and either way stuff will start growing in it after a week or so regardless what kind of water you use

You run a little peroxide through it once in a while?? You think vinegar would work?
I haven’t cleaned mine out at all yet but I’m starting to get mineral build up blocking the diffuser things where the fog starts.

I'm basically forced to use distilled water since the tap water is so hard there is an insane build up of lime in the fogger, greenhouse, everywhere. Also a week after cleaning the humidifying tote developed some nasty slimy layer, which I guess was bacteria. So I got a small reverse osmosis setup for the kitchen for 350bucks, and it's the best thing ever. Both for consumption and the humidifier. If you really need a lot each day, you'll probably need to spend more.

Can you run hydrogen peroxide through the fogger into the FC while trays are fruiting?

Peroxide breaks down into oxygen and water but I know it’s a process. You usually need a catalyst to break it down faster although it does break down over time. I try to run it while there are no trays in but im not sure if it would Carry over. Your trays may be slower after that again I don’t know though

Hydrogen peroxide is super unstable and becomes water pretty quickly when exposed to air. Well, I should say that the HO that is in a solution of water decomposes and leaves behind the water it was dissolved in. That's why you ruin it if you forget to cap it tightly. By the time it turns into an aerosol, I doubt that there is any significant (if any) HO left in it. It would probably help disinfect the humidifier tank. Cant hurt, at least.
