Yeah I got sick of all that so just got a supporters account, figured it’s only fair due to the wealth of knowledge on here and how much it’s helped me.

Anyway, I’ve bitten the bullet and accepted all my pan jars have stalled out
Rekon next time I’m gonna shake them while they’re young as they moved real fast to start with then just stopped.

Streaked a couple more plates this evening gonna start over. Also got a plate pin clone I’m gonna drop on grainnas soon as I pull my finger out and prep some more. All a learning curve I suppose.

i normally go from iso to liquid culture to gains. no need shake cause it'll colonize so fast its not needed.

i'll check into a supporter account. i've been around long enough.

I really must try lc again...I did it once when I first started out and had no idea what I was doing so shot some spores into some. They germinated and the culture grew but I never used it as I just assumed it was gonna be contaminated. That was before I built my hood as well so rekon it’s definitely overdue that I try again. Now just need to find a decent tek...

my qt jars will usually finish in 6 days from wedge drop but i shake anyway just to be sure it will recover. cuz if it recovers strong then i know itl most likely recover strong when j mix my bags and lat my trays. so really shaking my grain jars is more or less just a test cuz if recovery is slow or almost non existant i wont even go further with them. no need to waste bulk on garbage kno what i mean

i'm not sure i follow a specific tek but i just follow the directions on the bottle of liquid culture. mix with water and pc. when cooled, i'll toss an iso from a plate i want to fruit. wait till its loaded with mycelium. load a syringe and inoculate my grains. i only like lc cause it temporarily extends my agar work for awhile.

And this is a little experiment I'm running using a clone.
Wheat bran/fine verm 50/50 sub.

And 100% whole barley.

They should be fruiting in about a week if all goes well.

That's why I called it an experiment and not a grow. Some people don't have access to manure or straw and I've heard of people growing them in all sorts of manners. So I've decided to play a little...
I'm curious though what's the stuff they like so much in straw. Cellulose? If so I think it could be replaced with some kind of paper.
Oh and the wheat bran sub seems to have to much nutrients or something cuz the myc looks different than the one on "normal" sub.

Ahh thanks for doing this... i had some ideas of a few things to try without poo.. but i wasn't smart enough to use smaller containers to play in, i will for sure now though
