Damn thatās a lot of prints.
One of those big paper slicers they have at schools would be perfect for that. Just line it up and pull the big blade thing down.

So, hopefully that's enough to get what I'm after. I'm just glad I got the okay from you guys that the plate looked good. Now if I fuck up, I know I can at least recreate that part of the process
as long as you dont contam your master in the process thats why if u have something you really dont wanna lose its good to have a cpl back ups of it alsošš
How does this happen exactly? Do you guys just keep good plates in the fridge or something? I still haven't gotten through isolating through agar to get a culture and haven't putten anything on grain yet in my short career. I've been pulling transfers and getting rid of the old stuff, but should I have kept them in the fridge instead? Just in case my transfers contamed out? I've read so many different teks and personal processes with agar that it becomes confusing.
Like I know some people have cultures that are years old and shit, do they really just keep transferring and transferring? I use 24 ziploc minis, so doing transfers and shit gets annoying because like with this pan work I'm having to make new plates like every other day

Yeah plates in the fridge last for a long time, then if youāve got a really good one you put it in a slant which should last years.

From what I've been able to read a slant is just an agar dish thats been slanted for a larger surface area? Is there more to that? I feel like there is. I stick true to my title as I really am new and don't know anything. I really love all the guys in this thread, youre all patient af with my dumbass

plates arent really good for long term storage like a slant is due to how thin they are cuz they will dry out faster but i have plates stored also but if its something i want to keep long long terem its goin in a slant and even then il pull shit out and transfer to a new slant once a year a year and a half at the longest just to be safe but ive got cube cultures ive had in there 2+ years with no issues when i went to transfer or grow them. but as for pans im still playing with how well they keep long term in cold storage. so far anything less than 38 deg hasnt done well but the oldest pan culture i have is my jambos and those are comin up on 11 months old and they are still just as strong as they were the day i narrowed down my 3 keeper cultures that i have. the #2 one being my favorite of coarse and the one i run most often and the one that i sent all those prints from. but i have no doubt that they will be viable for quite some time yet or so i hope lol. but i use the 50ml centrifuge tubes as slants like this. these were taken last grow i transfered each to new slants also just to be safe. i keep a total of 3 of each just to be safe. but like i said il only do that with something i absoluteky dont wanna lose cuz u never fuckin know when some crazy fucked ass shit will rear its ugly head so i like to be safe

Little update on my stone plates

The original blue springs one is getting huge and has lots of little babies growing now! The main stone is almost pressing against the lid! I took 2 of the largest satellite stones and put them on new plates, hopefully the do the same thing.
I also took 2 big stones that were growing in one of my clone plates from my last wild coast tray. The wild coast ones seem a lot lighter in color, almost like the "blue pearls" but they still have a brownish tint.
There's definitely little ones starting in the blue springs jar as well, but that's from the original plate the big stone came from and the stones on that plate aren't really growing at all. Makes me wonder if they'll actually get any size like the one in the plate š¤·āāļø regardless I'm going to make some jars soon to put this blue springs plate into to see what happens.

So how I had the tub I modeled like JCMs tub I had everything the exact same except instead of leaving the top cracked and have a fan blow in, I installed a PC fan with filter on the side tray level. I couldnāt figure out why nothing was working. Trays would contam after 7-10 days. Well I took off the filter and put a much more flowy filter on the outside instead of the inside and over night I saw a huge difference. The tray straight blew up with pins. Now Iām kinda thinking this was my issue with the tent too possibly. I had another PC fan a little bigger on the tent with a filter that you could hear struggle to drag the air through the hepa at the top. Even though it was a 6in PC fan itās still no bathroom fan. Iām thinking just not enough air was coming in. Or maybe I just suck at life
