No coir in my casing. If I'm guilty of anything, I think the pH is low, but it doesn't look like it's hurting anything.

I had some trays that looked kinda like that a couple months ago. Except the myc was more Aerial and mine was definitely bacterial. Not saying your tray is.

Looks like everyone is doing well! Stoked to see Rain Euc fruiting for someone soon! I have a clone Rain Euc LC that I used on 10 jars yesterday. If it works going to try Asura and BH teks next.

Just found these mini masons at the grocery the other day. If half full they hold 50ml which is good enough for 5 jars or bags which works for me because I like to run several strains and species at once. Thought I’d share.

It doesn't help things, but it might hurt them. It just depends on how thick it is. Truth be told I'm dealing with overlay, which is pretty serious usually.
Just to repeat myself here: my guess is that some casing mix-in has nutrition in it, and my quest is to find out which. My guess so far is the calcium carbonate source I was using, so I'll rinse it. And I'm switching to food-grade, chalk paint calcium carbonate. Walmart online has it $18 for 10 pounds, which is a great price for super-fine food-grade calcium carbonate flour.

Asura you didn't get any of that ProMycel in the casing did you by chance? You definitely don't want that in your casing. In fact you don't want to add it at casing time either. It should be added to the substrate when you lay the trays. Also I've been adding it to my substrate before pressure cooking, but I don't know how wise that really is given its not designed for use like that. I figure it can't hurt, though, and probably adds nutrition (for next to free).

Can anybody give me a pointer on when to pick these? They don't seem to be flattening and a few caps are cracking.

Those look pretty done to me. I generally go by cap color if they don’t flatten out.
Are those shoeboxes in a Martha or joc setup?

Shit looks good to me, nice stems and only a couple snapping lol. That’s so weird.
So are these cambo? They look a lot like the jams cap wise.
