The casing on that bisp looks pretty thick, does the affect the fruits at all?

I’ve always tried to keep it 1/8” at most. I’m gonna try bigger next time just to see.

ya aka that dont look like what i was thinking of. they would have developed the heads on them by now these are my peace river trays that are starting to pin and they will go from lookin like lil specs or flakes of mold starting to full blown knots and pins very fast. i know they are lil tiny ass knots but when they are that small and early it takes a min for them to really look like it. but here i circled some of the ones i was able to actually get pics of before they went full blown knots il go back and take these same pics again later and they will look like the bigger ones surrounding them.

Yeah it’s definitely weird. Couple more pins showed up today but they seem to be maturing super fast.

I’ve got tamp clones pinning so I want to switch them out but I also want to see where this one goes. I’ve been saying oh it’ll mold by tomorrow for a week now.

ya its fucking crazy looking for sure and it looks like mold in and of its self. it was harder to tell in that other pic cuz of all the beads of moisture on it and i thought it may have just been knots forming and looking like lil specs of mold starting like what im talkn about but thats gtta be skme kind of mold cuz if they were gnna become pins they would have done it by now they move fast as shit ive been trying to get a pic of them to show what i was talkin about since last night but every time i checkd they were already tiny knots

maybe jake will know hes may have seen that before i know i havnt

From the pictures it just looks like a little flakes of vermiculite reflecting back the light of the camera flash but I’m sure if it’s causing you to take pictures and question it it probably looks different in person. In my experience anything extra usually turns out to be contam eventually But that doesn’t mean u can’t get a decent flush first, But in this case I’m not sure what I’m looking at what does it look like to you little white specs or what?

Is this the sort of thing anyone’s seen with p.cyans? Looks like pins forming to me although I could be wrong, this is all new to me anyway so I’m learning here with these. Just wondered if this was common or not.

Rye grass seed with some gypsum in a quart jar works well for everything I've tried including pan cambo. There's a good easy tek for prep. Look up RGS tek, I think.

mine are lil tiny white specs that are the begining of knots i notice them all the time and they grow into full blown easy to see knots very fast. yesterday aka was talking about something that looked like lil flakes of mold but wasnt sure cuz he said they were turnin into little balls. i couldnt really see his pic too well due to beads of moisture so i tried to show him what i was talking about. but those pics smooth just posted look an awful lot like what it is that aka has goin on

I'm having a real hard time with these picky little fungi. On my second attempt using a GH set up like the Jartha. 6 trays (3 Goliath / 3 Cyan Tampa) now on their 8th day and no signs of pins. Everything looked and smelled perfect when they were cased.

I can't seem to figure it what the issue is or how to dial it in. Currently running  12 min cycles - Ultrasonic on 3 of 9, fan on 2 off 10. Temps have been between 75 to 84 in the room.

The Goliath subs have started to pull away from the tray and I noticed some bluing on the sides. One appears to have a possible side pin, but nothing on the surface. Casing is moist and very thin.

This mimics the same failure from my last attempt but I really don't know what to change to get them going. They just won't pin for me.

i usually will notice a slight i mean real small shrinkage of substrate prior to pins what i would try to do is check real good and make sure there is no pins/knots then give a generous misting then crank the evap up and see what happens. also id get that room temp down try as much as possible to get between 75 at the low end and never above 80 i always aim for about 78

Yeah I thought it was mold growing on verm at first too but now it’s turning to these balls.

This is wild coast inoculated on 7/2. Looking a lot like stones forming. I guess it could be pinning invitro too cuz the myc up on the glass has the thick fruiting veins.

Yeah, it can be difficult to tell from a picture what’s really going on. You might be able to gauge it to an extent but till it gets spawned and fruited or more obviously contaminated it’s probably best to throw caution to the wind and just run with it till then. Although I am still learning with this species and making mistakes and spotting contams is all part of the process for me.

no i just meant that once colonized 100% wbs often looks totally different than everything else. it just seems to have a wierd look to it to me even tho its 100% clean and good to go. i dont know if i wanna use the word oily or greasy but it kinda has that look to it idk if its cuz the oils in the seeds or what but to me it just looks harder to spot contams in is all i was sayin. like when someone posts a jar n says does this look ok. and im always like idk ya no fuck i cant tell lol
