Bisp
Just nocced my first plates from a bisp print this morning. Is there anything about them you have noticed on agar that's particularly different to look for than Cyans or Cambos?
Excited to see if this works, my first attempt with a cyan syringe was a mold marathon.

Bisp are a different species than cyans? I thought it was just a type of cyan? Still learning.

Not really. The bisp plates were a lot like my cinct plates in that they had great germination and it was easy to find good looking cultures surprisingly. The myc was more of a grey color and bruised blue heavily when I shook the jar so much that I thought something was wrong. Also the grey worried me at first.

You can add coconut oil to that recipe at the "add gelatin" step near the end. Soy lecithin is a nice addition as well to emulsify the oil.

It was a freebie included in a trade labeled Pan Jamaica. I still have the print I took a swab off of it and worked from a few pasty plates. Plenty left. Also got a microscope if that helps with ID just give me some guidance.
What features make you think its Pan Cambo?

jcm, this is great. The market has been flooded with your cambos, so my big stash of real pan jams might be super rare now
