Look at it, it looks so weird, and I'm sure the culture was clean 100%, even my sterile techniques...

I agree.
Yeah I tossed my pan grow. Might try again when the weather warms up some. I had some knots aborting and the caps opening at the surface made me quite frustrated. I had gotten that far and couldn't even get a full fruit. At least I can admire some of the pan pics posted here.

So my two pan cyan jam trays got trichoderma because I spawned too early, lesson learned.
BUT my two pan cambo trays got one hell of a first pin set!! I had been out of town the previous day and relied way too heavily on my mini GH to keep the sub hydrated after 6 days in fruiting. So it dried out by the time the first pins had set and I was way too afraid to ruin that beautiful pin set by misting!! Another lesson learned, never forget to dunk if you can!! These first fruits are super small but there's so many of them
I'm dunking both trays right now so hopefully the second flush reaches their full potential!!
Here's some pics of the pins first coming in and the first flush 3 days before harvest(today) Sorry I didn't take a pic before harvest just as soon as I felt under all the shrooms and felt how dry and spongey the sub was I picked them fast and got that tray soaking ASAP!

Wish me luck!!
Peace!

Great thread Mr Fox, I'm going to give this a try. I've read most of it and some times i think i can do it and other times Im not so sure. I have only done a couple of small grows. I already have or can get most of the items. Field aged/leached Horse poo is really the one item Im having a prob with. I kinda feel weird asking someone for a very specific type of horse poo. I read that i can make a substrate without it,so a may just try that. Anyway, so much good info here folks. I'll be sure to post pics of the good ,bad and ugly as i go.

Hey man, check Craig's list. There's always free or really cheap sources there. There's a couple vendors that sell it also.
You can get away without it, but they really like it.

Craigslist looks good but do i need to be picky? Can it just come from a guys compost pile. I didn't think it was suppose to have straw and urine in it . You know the stuff that comes out of the horse pens when they clean them. Just want to make sure i get the right shit. Do i just dig deeper for the more aged stuff?

You don't want the stuff from the stables. It may have bedding, cedar, and other crap in it. The stuff from the field is the good stuff. Some places will let you gather it if there's no horses around.
Some people will specify how clean it is. Not all of course.
