Do yall preseal when you plan to inoc w lc? Ive always been pretty lucky with it. But then a few days ago i had 2 bags blow that werent even presealed! Think i vented too long

Filter out, really? I don't think I've ever heard of anyone doing that, but damn, I'll give it
a go next round. Seems like air could escape better that way.

My current method, since I have a whole run of bags I want to get rid of, is to roll up filter in and then
double bag. Don't judge me  Fucking works great. Won't win any kudos that's for sure.

I’ve always heard it’s so the filter patch doesn’t get wet. Also I’ve had bags cooked before where the filter patch was out and when I was taking the bags out the patch stuck to something and this film came off of them. Ever since then I roll the filter in. Sometimes you just have to find out the hard way.

What do you guys think of this one? It’s a coir manure mix that I cased extremely lightly. I’ve been waiting for it to go moldy cuz the other two I made this way have and the surface is looking a little odd. It’s been fruiting for like a week at least.

I’ve been checking it regularly so I can get it out ASAP when mold shows up and all of a sudden there’s a pin now. Idk if the thin casing is throwing me off and it’s fine or what. The myc started looking sketchy in some spots so I assumed mold but maybe it’s just fruiting. I’ve never had pans throw up emergency pins due to mold before like cubes will.

i think using coir at all with pans is a surefire way to get mold. at least it seemed go that way often when i tried using it

I tried bags one time with some pleurotus. All 4 of them triched out and since it was 4 different species from 4 separate plates I figured it was because of my bag sterilization technique. Which I have absolutely zero confidence in.

Any pointers or up to date threads? I really don't mind using jars as my grows are usually small.

My first pan grow was with cvg and maybe a handfull of manure not much because it was intended for cubes and I used it accidentally. It had trich that’s why you can see a hole in the sub where I pulled out the contamed area. That only usually buys you a little time it always comes back. Luckily that time it bought me enough time to get to harvest my first pan grow. But manure and straw are much better

That does seem to be the case so far but why would coir cause it to contaminate??

Yeah, that's kind of how I like to do things too. Seeing people with massive monotubs that have trich outbreaks gives me anxiety. My rationale is that if I keep it limited to smaller trays, should one show contam I can just toss it, as opposed to losing 55 lbs of coir or whatever people choose to do.

Like I'm not trying to sell or distribute at this point, so I'm not too interested in massive flushes. Just more interested in the entire process, and then fun treats at the end of it i can share with my friends

I don’t think it was the coir in particular. When I did that grow the tray was on the bottom of the GH and I was leaving the tent open a crack so the tray could get more air and cause evaporation. I had cubes growing above it. I think that let the trich in.

Yeah but manure is way more vulnerable than coir it just doesn’t make sense. I’m kinda thinking the jar that went into the coir/manure tubs was bad.

I actually have a quart right now I’m running an experiment on with only coir/straw pellets/millet with two drops of an organic amino acid NPK.

I haven't been able to get even one germination spot neither on plates nor on BRF cakes from the last Goliath spore solution vial. I'm really curious to see what I can accomplish by experimenting with various recipes of Pan Cakes in HC's. Did I miss the giveaway btw? Honestly I've only been able to get like one germination spot from the entire vial and even then I was never 100% sure it was pan myc and not some mold  I'd be happy to trade one of the only three varieties I currently have, LGT, aa, RW, all my medicinal catalogue and spore collection went missing in passive aggressive environment :/ tho I do have some rare memes I can trade someone for a print, I don't have much to offer except rare memes and the possibility of discovering some new easier method of growing these or in the very least contribute with somewhat useful side by sides and experiment regarding most aspects.

For example today I measured the temperature inside Rye qt jars and 1/2pint BRF jars. I did this after sterilizing for 2h on 18 PSI and after steam sterilizing for 2.5h. I'll post what I discovered today as soon as ai find out how to express myself without stirring so much shit up that it will get me banned. I'd rather grow pans and still be active on the forum :bongload:

Just did a run with Aussie and printed a couple. Got about 4 dry grams from those. The caps are small the biggest being not much bigger than a dime. It wasn’t a bad colonizer but I’m pretty sure the fruits weren’t much better for everyone else. I pulled only the fruits I wanted to print for personal and threw away the rest so I probably would have had a little more in weight but not much for sure.
