here c 10 these are all transfers from the tissue plate of the peace river clone im runnin right now minus the 2 that i have going. il still fruit all these out also.
you can see they still go every which way and thats ok. i dont have pics of the tissue plate of these but i do still have it in the fridge so il use these tissue plate pics as an example. stry bout shitty saran wrap and tape i was out of parafilm and the generic saran wouldnt cling so i had to tape it lol

^^^ Guess who's learning this the hard way with pans this week? *points to self and pulls trigger*. Thought this would be a cakewalk like most other myco work and it's just been a shit show. So many weak plates and every time I get a half decent one (keeping to the less-transfers-is- more theory) it expresses white mold or goes green on grain. I'm oofed out. Working with pans is going to make me a better mycologist, I can tell already... Starting from scratch tonight after tossing my last plate... This thread has been INVALUABLE.

that sux man. it takes a bit to get the eye down for what to grab but watch your streak plates like a hawk and start making transfers as soon as u start seeing actual germination points. il take those the very second i see them that way i can split shit all up making it easier when you start atcually getting myc growth. but once u know what to take u should have no problem at all with getting a clean culture by t2 or 3

My friend sent me a picture of her first Pan Cyan pin ever. Jamaican me crazy with all those hyphal knots...
Method: - Swabbed to agar. - Clean T1 to 1 qt RGS - Dried aged horse poo, rehydrated, and pasteurized in the oven at 150-170 for 2 hours - Spawned 1 qt RGS spawn to roughly 2 quarts of pasteurized hpoo and placed in trays 1-2 inches deep. in a glovebox. Then wrapped with aluminum and left to colonize bulk for 5 days in SAB. - Cased with thinnest possible layer of 50-50 mix on day 5 from spawn to bulk - Placed in SGFC and misted/fanned 3-4 times a day for 3 days. - Day 8 from spawn to bulk: Stopped misting straight into the SGFC, continued fanning just as frequently and misting outside of the SGFC. - Day 9 - First pin in a tiny container made and lots of hyphal knots throughout all of the pans (a 5x5 and a few small circular food containers of varying sizes that were upcycled.
She says that it seems pretty simple if you understand the basic process...
Any estimates on time from hyphal knots to opening caps? She is dying to know.
Also, she says thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas. She says that without these threads, this would be a lot less straight-forward.

Why do you think bulk bags will make it bigger do you mean bags of grain or just inoculating bulk with LC? Pans do fine on grain you just have to learn their preferred moisture content but I feel I get better consistent results running through grain then just going directly to bulk with LC. Right now my failure rate is probably right around 25% in the winter time I can get it down to 10% through 5% (approx) I’ve now been able to tighten up and my success rate has improved vastly over my last two runs but I am constantly making changes with the seasons materials strains etc. I am rebuilding my fruiting chamber simply because it’s over a year old and my contamination rates once placed end to it are higher than they have ever been so I have two brand new tents coming I will also deep clean the fogger and replace the hosing

These are some wild pan cyan cultures a couple Days before putting to grain.
It’s not that I’m getting bad results but the myc just looks healthier on the bulk mix then it did on agar or grain. I don’t know maybe it’s the wild strains because the jams I did and wild coast all looked good on grain. I’ll take a picture difference when I get home of the wild strains grain/bulk bags.

I took those pics two days after the transfer and they grew out pretty quick. I didn’t take any pics before putting to grain but they looked a lot better. They were the most vigorous and quick recovering cultures I had of those particular strains. But I don’t know I haven’t been doing this for as long as you have your probably right.

Hey guys, I'm glad to say that my third attempt at cultivating pans was a success. It wasn't a panopy but I still got alot of fruits, by my standards anyway 😂. I had several trays in the GH but the one pictured was the best. These are wild coast (thanks again psilo!). I want to give back to the community that has helped me so much so I made some prints each "print" has prints from two caps.*note* these will need to be cleaned up on agar, my grow room is in an old barn (not sterile by no means). So if any of you guys are interested I have eleven prints to give away. Just sent me a pm and I'll get them sent out. Thanks again. Especially jcm, Jake, and asura.

So how wet is too wet. Like you want it glistened by but covered and you don’t want it just beads on the surface like a cube tray?
