I stumbled across those comic book/drawing filters accidentally a few months back and it blew my mind. I spent hours playing with them.
Yeah those jams have wild myc. This was one of the very first pan subs I made to mess around with. I was like a cloud that had pins pop through it.

Ya'll need to try milo. Cheap, good nutrition. I think it is the best grain for the cost. I mean, rye is the best overall, imo, but milo is a great compromise for cost/performance.

Hey guys, so here's my clone plates from that wild coast tray from the 19th.

Only half way across the plates in nearly 2 weeks. Is it just me or does that seem slow af? Both are from the same fruit, the single largest from the tray. I should have done one of the clusters 🤷♂️ I'm still pretty new to this but they look like monocultures? If I do transfers will they sector out and possibly get something faster or is this basically where that ends? I never really go past where it looks like a single mass, although I know that doesn't necessarily mean it is. I had an old plate of wild coast that had old blue pins on it so I made a couple new transfers with those pins today. I'm anxious to get another tray in the works though. Maybe I will just put one of the close plates to one of my spawn mix bags and try some transfers with the other while trying to get something new and fast from the new agar pin plates. Any recommendations would be appreciated 😅
Also an update on this weird blue springs culture I have going. Every one of my plates so far, even the print plate, has popped pins and these weird stones. But this one is just stones and a shitload of them at that!

I cut one of the larger ones off the agar and put it to a new plate and its growing very slowly. They bruise pretty dark blue when you cut them so I'm wondering what the potency is like if you got enough for an actual dose. I inoculated 2 millet jars with wedges that had big clumps of the stones on them and they're also growing nice and slow 😁

I'm wondering if maybe this culture will produce the same stone type things in jars if you just leave them for a long ass time like a truffle jar or something? Has anyone ever actually tried it? Or even better tried it with a isolated stone heavy culture like this? I mean if it ends up moot then whatevs 🤷♂️ but I think the potential of pan cyan truffles is enough to warrant giving it a shot right? So I'm gonna leave these jars for like 3-6mo and watch.
But I also had the idea, I bet theres a fucking gram of those stones in the petri dish. One could literally just make 20-40 or even more plates from that isolate and let them sit a month or to and end up with a decent personal harvest of them. Enough to test the potency at least 🤷♂️ although who knows if them growing on agar would cause reduced potency.
Would love to hear some thoughts on all this guys!

I say try it out! Keep jackin with it and maybe just maybe you can find some genetics that produce bigger stones O.o Kinda like that one crazy doctor/scientist guy who was doing it with tampanensis i believe it was. Built a whole drug empire to fund his research on mushrooms haha

The stone thing comes up now and then. I cloned this one, haven’t grown it out yet but it sprouts lots of pin clusters on plates.

Hey pan guys, these are the transfers I made from the germination plate onto 4 plates. How they looking? Gonna let them grow a couple more days before transfer again. From the front

From the back

And the same plates but tried to get on a darker background

Hopefully I’ve got something worth transferring but thought I’d pick you more experienced guys brain before going ahead as I’ve not grown these before.

Looks like a bunch of decent growth.
The top left colony in the last two pictures look like where I’d probably take myc from.

lol this tub has been so ugly. Idk if this counts as a second flush, it’s mostly just the pins left from harvesting the first time.

I’m just glad it’s still going usually this is where the mold comes in.
They’re definitely missing something. I think airflow but I’ve had the lights off lately too so it’s just been a small amount of ambient light.

again not many that really even look great to where id want to use them but if u must this is where id take transfers from. but keep in mind im kinda just selecting the best of the worst here. like i stated before i really think u should streak a cpl new plates and start over and get some better more aggressive looking growth cuz a lot of that looks pretty weak from my viewpoint. plus you should also work on getting better pics where you can actually see cuz some of these i was just guessing on. i really think if you keep transfering from these that you may end up with a weak fragile culture and its been my experience that weak growth like that is way more prone to not even recovering when its broken up so just keep that in mind also. try to get something that looks like this by t1 or 2 this is the type of growth i look for

Definitely quiet today 🤷♂️ I'm actually in the process of making some oat/straw/verm/manure spawn bags for the next project. Gonna go much thinner subs this time. Also I'm kinda thinking about trying it inside again now that I've had a little success. That tubs doing better than anything I've ever come close to indoors with pans 😅
