Grew out 3 cultures of the south point cyans. Two at the same time and the other wasn’t cased until a week or so later.
Between the first two cultures, one had regular caps, one had dark caps, which I posted pics of a couple weeks ago (I think).

These pics here are from the later trays that got cased a week after the first two.

when the 3rd/most-recently-cased culture reached maturity it appeared they were even darker!  Some of them almost black. If the humidity gets too low they lighten up. They do start to lighten up once they start dropping spores, but not much.

Also included pics of one tray that has some caps that look like Bundt cakes or something. They also have those cute holes in the middle.

The trays from the pics I posted a couple weeks ago did something really interesting too, which I’ll post pics of later. They went through striking changes over the course of a few hours and I was lucky enough to be home and notice the beginning of it happening, so I’ll have to time stamp all the pics I took over those few hours which I don’t feel like doing atm. More on that later

Soooooo guys, my clone plates look good but they're sooo slow. Like slower than cubes. And they look like monocultures,  they're both from the same fruit. The largest single fruit of the flush, I should have cloned one of the big clusters but I only had 2 plates and I was pouring the next day. Anyway, they look good, nice fluffy rhizo. But they were put to agar on 7/19 and are only like half way to the edge of the plates. What do? Lol. Should i put them to grain or just got back to p-0 and do a t1 pin clone and use that to grain? Cause that's what I did for the others and she was dumb fast.

hey guys, please give me a real advice:rolleyes:

I cultivate pans for years, not permanently but constantly. All prep stages tested damn well and I get results which I like many times but I can't grasp why my grain stage ruins so often.
I use Rye and prepare it hundreds of times and still don't understand why I finish with some little wet spots so frequently.

My petri dishe work clean in 98% cases. I do grain transfers in SAB under the same conditions. I really confused what else can I change with the Rye.

I check Jacke's thread with note that Rye has tendency to absorb more than it need to. So, maybe you have the same experience with thing that you do a lot and have success many times, but also have problem in it that occurs randomly.  I will appreciate your words.

Yeah this is why I switched to millet well that and the cost cut your rye into white millet at about 25% to start and see how that goes also how are you prepping your green I found especially with pans a cold soak is more than enough anything more and you will likely over hydrate

Dude no matter how many times I say it Siri will never get that fucking word right LOL I stopped using it a while ago it’s $65 for a 50 pound bag where I’m at and I can get the same size bag of millet for about $18 I cut oats into my millet for the extra hydration because they are also cheaper but if you have rye it works well too. I’m sure you could get it to work by itself all so you’ll just have to find a way to back the hydration off a little bit but that’s kind of throwing money away for no reason

If you use nothing but millet your hydration Hass to be perfect it’s very easy to go to dry the easiest way to adjust is to cut in a more absorbent grain are use oats I cut it in at about 25 to 30% the oats then act as hydration pockets throughout the millet giving me a nice in between as for the colonization time if you use just millet it will slow down a little bit but when you get a good mix it moves fast

did not know that now i know that il just stick to straight rye no matter the cost lol i love rye. ive found it to be the most consistant of all the grains as far as prepping and absorbtion goes

I’ve been having issues with rye that I never had with millet or wheat. After this rye bag I’m going back to wheat and millet. I get a 25lb bag off amazon for $35 no matter what kind of grain it is. Bit expensive but my only option that I know of.

Yeah I used it for a long time there’s definitely nothing wrong with it when I first started growing pans there is definitely a learning curve to get my prep adjusted to where I don’t have a super high failure rate I did get it figured out though but the cost was just so much cheaper and it works just as well but if you can get 50 pound bags for 20 bucks then there’s no reason to switch you have high success rates

When using substrate bags, how do you know when the relaid trays are ready be cased and go into fruiting after reconsolidation?

Once the mycelium has bounced back Usually only takes a day or two if you loaded the tray when the bag is fully colonized

I’ve been doing no prep grain as well so that’s probably part of the problem.
