Nervous about this grow lol. I don't know if I'm doing anything right. It's weird seeing it kind of dry.

The substrate looks like it might have been prepped a bit dry. I'd definitely give it a good misting right now to help replenish moisture on the surface. If you don't get a good first flush in a week or so, then dunk for one hour, and put it back into fruiting.

Ok. At this point I'll be happy with one fruit lol. This was my first time using just cpoo and verm so I believe my field capacity was off compared to adding in coir.

Yeah, it is hard to make the adjustment from squeezing coir to manure properly. It's difficult to know how much water should be coming out when you squeeze it, you just gotta go with your gut instinct I guess.

anyone here cultivate p.cyan at sub/tropical? i having trouble leaving spawn bags/ container in FC rto fruit. it's easy get contamination by bacteria and black molds. I also get problem on myceliium it grow too slow, the coir/dung i use had became lighter color before it get fully colonize, will this be ok ?

Check your techniques while knocking up your grain jars. Did you use a clean agar wedge/LI to inoculate your grains in a SAB? And your sub has to be squeezed to field capacity and properly pasteurized as well.

I pretty sure it's correct. I follow Waylit's Pan cyan Tek. used 40dung/40coir/20rice, sterilized the whole the mixture for 1 hour, the next day i used spore syringe bout 6ml , process done in glove box.
i am planing to do agar to spawn so i can make sure my syringe is free from contamination, but i cant found malt extract. planing to make it with dung+agar+wheat flour. Hopefully it work =(

Instead of all that you can just use the water left over from hydrating your grains! It has a high enough nutrition to make agar. I don't use mea at all anymore even though I have a ton. You can dilute it if you want a less nutritional media and so forth, it's extremely simple

Ok so kind of noob question because I know there are about a billion variables to take into account, but here it goes anyways. How long after casing my pan cambo and pan cyan trays should I expect pins? Just a ballpark range, I know someone out there probably waited 14 days and got a flush or something but I'm speaking generally.
Back Story: (pics coming soon only have internet via phone at the moment)
I spawned two 2 lb small spawn bags of milo/millet/rice hulls split into four 2" deep aluminum trays with 50/50 hoop/straw covered and incubated them on the 3/4. By the night of the 9th both sets of trays (cambos & cyans) were 100% covered in fuzzy pan myc!! So I uncovered the trays cased with 50/50+gypsum/lime gave the casing layer a thorough misting and put each species in their own FC with two inches of thoroughly hydrated perlite at the bottom. I've been misting and fanning like crazy, yet making sure not to drown the casing. I just make sure it never falls below field capacity. The casing layer is colonizing super slowly compared to the rest of the grow, and I've seen grows where pans don't colonize the casing layer much but I haven't seen any knots or pins either. I think I might need to go get some big saw hole drill bits and add FAE holes with polyfil to my FC, but I've been fanning it 3-6 times a day even waking up in the middle of the night lol. It's kept around 73 when it gets cold at night to about 78 during the day. That's internal temp I have a sterilized temp probe in one. The RH fluctuates between 60's just before misting to 100's for about an hour in between misting/fanning. Am I just being super paranoid and as my father would say "be patient young grasshopper"?! Lol it's just this is my first exotic grow and not being familiar with the species or its quirks makes me a little paranoid.
On a more positive note though I have 11 homemade WBS quart jars (6 of which are almost 100%) colonizing with more pan cyan myc!!! Too bad the rye that came with my monotub full kit from outgrow got wet spot I was looking forward to also having an oyster grow along side my pans

I have a few very very very short, like just above the substrate short pans in my mini mono. How can I correct this? Is it too much water? Not enough fae? I have many other knots but a few of the flat caps laying around. I'm feeling frustrated right now. I want to get this right.

Sounds a lot like low RH, and an overly wet casing. As stated above, a picture is worth a thousand words.

I feel like this is a lost cause. I wanted to try something other than cubes and it doesn't seem to be going well so far.

Alright. I went ahead and gave it a mist. I've been giving it a light mist daily because I've been worried about aborting the knots that have formed. But it looks like they just get to the point of prematurely opening their caps and then die off. Mr. Fox makes this shit look easy. I think I might start over and hope for the best. That's if I can get the spores to germinate on agar again.

I had the same problem with my last tub, just a bunch of caps opening up on the surface, no stems at all. Maybe I could've used a thinner casing layer
