Alright round three on germ plates! This time I used a Z streak method instead of overlapping quadrants, and a total of four plates for the single swab instead of three. I also made sure to be much lighter when getting the initial spores from the print. Here's hoping for some usable growth with good separation between the colonies! I also found a nice surprise of a pin on a cube plate this morning, so that's onto its own plate too now.
Thanks again for all the feedback everyone. This hobby has quite a learning curve, but this community makes the process enjoyable no matter what.

I think I might have figured it out, why Everythong is triching around 6-7 days. I think I might be over pasturizing my sub. Because if the center is 160 and water around the bag is 180 the the other peer of my sub must be too high in temp that’s why when I spawn and put the foil with micropore or the lid on the shoebox everything colonizes fine and then after I put it into fruiting 6-7 days later I have trich probably because I’m over pasturizing my casing and my sub.

Actually just made some bulk bags the other night. One question I have I have some reshi. Lions mane and some other pana bags going and everytime they get about 40% I’ll mix them up and they either tale a very long time to recover or don’t at all. So are you supposed to shake them at all?

Also been using calcium carbonate instead of lime. I see lime has some other stuff in it as well, would that be better

i usually mix my bulk bags at about the 50% mark but only if i kno i have very strong myc that i know will recover from it. but if ur not sure of it like if its movin slowly i wouldnt take the chance cuz when u go to lay the trays it may not recover a second time.

Why wouldn't it recover? I know that when I shake my Bisporus grain jars the myc gets kinda weaker and slower, but then after I spawn to bulk it grows at lightning speed suddenly. I can't imagine those more voracious species of Pan not being able to recover.

My Bosporus bag actually did recover but it took a week I have had several others that were not so lucky. I’m really not sure because the bags look healthy. My reshi bag was looking awesome and I shook it up and it took almost a week and then all the sudden blew up again but I was starting to think it wouldn’t. It just seems like a week recovery is a bit long and it might be better to just not at all. My lions mane still hasn’t recovered from the shake after a week but I’m starting to see myc again but it looks like it did when it was first starting out and it was 40% when I shook It

What temp do you work with during the winter and what temp at the summer? Here in Sweden it's perfect temp in my apartment in the summer. Only in the summer tho lol.. 26-30C it gets in the apartment during the summer (10days in Sweden)

well it happens and were mostly talknin about mixing/shaking bags of bulk sub not grain jars. but iv also even had grain jars that wouldnt recover either. and when i have a grain jar that recovers poorly i often will not even use it due to the fact it prolly wouldnt live thru spawning. it just happens sometimes il bet all the $ i have in my wallet on that everyone who has grown pans has had this happen at least once. ive had shit that looked so good and strong and fast then id give it a shake and it wouldnt recover at all. shits pretty fuckin delicate at times it seems

This summer is hot as shit most days in the mid to upper 90s in the winter it averages mid 50s but it can drop below freezing I definitely prefer winter cultivation to summer. As for mixing the bags when I inoculate with grain I mix it up really well and the bags are colonized in 5 to 7 days usually by the time I see them they’re finished and I don’t have a chance to mix them but I wouldn’t be opposed to doing it if I thought it was needed

My Bisporus:
Old plate with stones

I'm surprised I don't have more pics of their myc, but it does look similar to yours. Just usually looks like it has way more sectors (even a clone).
