sure its possible. were walking sources of contamination everywhere we go. so just the simple filling of it can let contams in. however i dont even care about that. just cuz by the time im spraying anything anyway the myc is already well established and has a hold of the substrate and the chances of ruining your grow from just misting it during fruiting is very low i think. but now if your just soaking it and dumping tons of water on jt thats a good way to trich shit out fast ive found.

Maybe I should fill a pump sprayer with microban and give the room a bath.

Yeah I’m almost positive it has something to do with my substrate other wise at least one out of the over a hundred jars would have shown something this whole thing started about 6 weeks or so ago. I’ve been at war ever since and my logic says well the thermometer says 165 in the center of the bag for 3 hours so how could there possibly still be trich and why out of all the trays I’ve done doesn’t it ever show up before I put it into fruiting. But it’s happening in everything so it has to be my pasteurization.really what I think it was was the casing itself. Because I used the same casing for everything. Peat/Verm ph 8.5. It always shows up on the center probably the area that gets the least air at least with the shoeboxes.

Jake just said he switched to sterilizing because he was having the same problems with mold. I agree, I’m ready for winter again. I’m almost at a full year since I started and now that I’ve experienced this stuff I’ll be for sure rotating species next time. Cubes and edibles in winter and pans during the summer.
I forgot how fast pans go where every few hours there’s noticeable growth. Hopefully I can pull of a half decent grow without the fogger cuz a few are gonna have to go without unless I start switching which ones are in the chamber each day.

See I was thinking the exact opposite. I’m not having the same problems with cubes only pans. And I was able to Grow pans in the winter. There just more susceptible to contam at least for me.

ph of 7.5 s where i go but at least in the 7-8 range. your 8.5 is a lil high not that its super out of range but id try to get it closer to the under 8 mark and then pasteurize another way and see what happens

JCM, thank you for those pictures. Would it make any sense to wait for the contams to sporulate to make them easier to ID, or should I try and transfer out from that colony you mentioned before?

I’d transfer now. Contams aren’t the problem as much as finding the right kind of myc growth. I’d grab that little patch and work on it while keeping an eye on the germ plate for more good myc.

Yeeeeeah boy!
Wild coast blowing up. Lots of fused caps though.

This is going much better than I expected based on using a new less aggressive species and an untested fruiting chamber.

Thanks guys. These aren’t growing as straight up as before, you think that’s just how they are or is it lacking light or air?
I’ve got the lights on them now, I didn’t at first but the jams didn’t have any more light than these have had so far and were great.

could be a light issue if u dont have an actual light source they could be going twds the lil light that there is but if u do have a light source above them its most likely just genetics. ive had some wild ass shit growing in every which way with lighting directly above them so who knows really. but sometimes they will straightn themselves out a bit as the grow upward.

Spawned these trays four days ago. Look and smell completely healthy but at this point I trust nothing. Put an aquarium filter in the FC which basically acts as a high powered air stone while filtering the water at the same time. 19.99 on amazon btw.

well hopefulky it all works out for ya i have 4 stones in the middle area of mine ran off another pump. it seemed like with only 1 pump i wasnt getting enough air in there. i noticed a big difference when i added it tho. but u have those big holes cut out out and i dont so u should get plenty of air so i dont think thats the problem. like i said tho i dont even bother putting anything in my water. with all the air bubbles in there it dont stagnate plus it evaporates pretty quickly. i have to add about a gallon a week. i do use distilled water tho just cuz our water here is terrible and full if sediment

I have 4 8in on the sides and two four in and a 12 rope stone in the middle as well as the filter which puts out the most bubbles. That should do it right
