Pulled the poly back for a proper look after work today. The Wild Coast up front is the clear leader. I'm wondering if maybe its because that one actually gets a little bit of sunlight mid morning. The other two are too far back in the porch so the fence blocks the sun. Either way they're all doing fucking amazingly! Still can't really believe I've done this! I think I'll definitely be casing Saturday.

I have just PCd 2 Manure/Straw Bags. Sadly one of them has a hole in it.
What do you think, can I put that into a new bag and just PC it again? Or would you throw that out and start over? I somehow don't want to waste the substrate...
With regard to moisture content, I could use the Microwave-Check to bring it to ~63-64% again bevor PCing.
Any opinion is greatly appreciated.

I've PC'd again after busted bags. I don't like wasting sub either. Whenever I've done it, I haven't even bothered with checking water content. Lazy on my part, but it's worked out.

An sab is rather inexpensive but it will make all the difference, as will keeping a clean room to work In and personal hygiene plays a role. After work before I even step in my room I take a shower and scrub the hell out of my whole body. The. wear gloves and try to be fast when doing agar work.
I have a SAB...must have just got a bad wind in the room or something as I usually only get about 30% failure/contams max.
It was a swab that I made myself from a previous batch that was very good, but my LC has gone bad and I'm trying to revive it now.
Thank you all.

30% contam rate no offense but we really need to work on your sterile work habits. can you describe your methods?? maybe we can pinpoint some things that will help get that down. thats just a very high rate of contam and thats a lot of work and time wasted. lets see of we can get that down😃😃

You are absolutely right and I was probably over exaggerating a little (not with my latest batch, but doing a load of T1's using a contamination hadn't helped). My main issue is I have a tendency to cut corners to save time, which costs me more time in the long run. Thanks for the support.

Ah second flush and now they are growing more evenly - First flush is shit and could be due to variation in hydration levels. After they all have a good soak the flushes are more consistent. Might not need that extra fan after all -
