Both are very dirty. You really need either an Sab or flow hood. An sab is rather inexpensive but it will make all the difference, as will keeping a clean room to work In and personal hygiene plays a role. After work before I even step in my room I take a shower and scrub the hell out of my whole body. The. wear gloves and try to be fast when doing agar work.

I quit doing all of that a while ago. Don't even wear gloves anymore. Also, they are sold out everywhere bc of the covid scare.
No shower, teeth brushing or gloves. Last time I had one out of 20 dishes contam and it was bc it fell over in my sab..
No hands hovering over your work makes a lot more difference than obsessive hygiene measures ime.
Anyone else lazy like that?

Same same. I just wash my hands up to my elbows with soap. Never used alcohol for sanitization either, just spray SAB with distilled water, good to go. Rarely get airborne contams.

Right on Agarstudent I hope it works out. Not the best option but it’s the cheapest I found. Probably worth spending the extra $15 to get a fan that will last 5 years instead of ~1 year though.

Got this shoebox on the 3rd shelf where it stays a little dryer than the top two shelves. Basically got the same hole pattern as A pasty ez dialed monotub except only 2 holes on the short side instead of 5 holes.
I was going to run it outside the tent, but 5 days after casing I only had 3 pins so I ended that experiment and threw it in the tent. Took a couple days before I saw more pins but once it got in the tent it started looking much better.
Trays didn’t do too well on the 3rd shelf because in order to get the 3rd shelf at optimal humidity, the top two shelves would be pooling too much water. But with the shoebox it seems to be trapping enough humidity within its high walls that it’s doing better on the 3rd shelf than a regular Pyrex tray would.
Could def use some more tinkering, but it seems like a better option than a Pyrex tray for that particular shelf/spot in the tent. Maybe on the next go I’ll make a Pyrex tray to run side by side with the shoebox on the 3rd shelf (using the same monoculture of course) to compare. But when I put a tray down there this time around, I had to do a lot more hand watering

So first flush done. This is a bit over half of it in the bowl and bag. About 200g fresh from both trays which had one myco quart between the 2 trays. Nothing to write home about but I am stoked for a first try!
@JCM thanks for the encouragement!
@Asura watered 50ml with the syringe, never thought of it but worked great thanks!
@Hereigrow can't wait to see those pools turn out!
@JOC again you da man! I never doubted you but amazed to see it all workingout
These are from a 1 transfer plate and they seem to be getting a better pinset than the others which were multispore. One clear winner in there to clone, it was a day ahead of everything else.
Pan. Cyan. Rainbow Eucalyptus has been cased and will be pinning 6/28ish. Will be happy to introduce my first wild picked spores to the community!
Rock on

It’s mostly piece of mind for me really at least if I’m clean I can narrow down problems if they occur.

I wanna try fruitung some pan. Cyanescens, would anyone be able to provide some insight into an idea I have? With my current setup I don't have the ability to run a fogger in a tent. I have previously been able to maintain pretty good humidity inside of a large clear tote, filled half way with perlite and some water to hydrate it. I was fruiting cubes and it took the tub a while to drop below 85% humidity. Would I be able to modify it so I could manage high humidity levels without sacrificing FAE? Anyone have work arounds? Thanks for any help

@AgarStudent My shower door has an opening at the top. Air is going in 24/7, but it would be nice to have an outtake. I've been thinking about adding one and playing around with cycling out the chamber every hour or so. Right now, cycling is me opening the door regularly whenever I think about it

that will most likely not give u the right environment. i have tried sgfcs, monotubs and hcs all with terrible not worth doing results. you need warmer temps 77-81f with a real high humidity. like high to the point to where anything in there will have lil tiny beads of water on it. but you also need periods of evaporation and then resaturation. not to mention pretty much constant fae. and the only way ur really gnna hold all of those is to have some type of actual system set up. i dont have room for my martha tents/greenhouses here either which is why im usuing what i am in modified totes. u could easily convert what u said u had into what im using. just ditch the perlite that shits messy as fuck and u wont need it. all the info is in my write up in the link in my sig

Hey jcm, I just put down two trays of Aussie's today. These were grown out from an old print...back in the days when Aussie really were pan cyan And so far they are looking strong. Man, I am really hoping to get a shit load of prints from these to get out there. Have another Aussie LC finished up so I will start 2 new bags of it this weekend.

Pulled the poly back for a proper look after work today. The Wild Coast up front is the clear leader. I'm wondering if maybe its because that one actually gets a little bit of sunlight mid morning. The other two are too far back in the porch so the fence blocks the sun. Either way they're all doing fucking amazingly! Still can't really believe I've done this! I think I'll definitely be casing Saturday.

Finally stopped and got a couple books of stamps so if anyone would like one of the Beulah prints send me a pm. Gonna let y’all get first dibs before doing a formal giveaway. It’s my second time printing, first time with pans, and I have no idea how any of my cube prints turned out, so any feedback on their cleanliness would be appreciated.
Edit- ^dude that’s awesome
