I have seen a lot of that with pan cyan but mostly with tropicalis and cinctulus. They both start doing it almost immediately on agar. I’m not sure what it is

So I just got some straw pellets, microbe-lift 100% natural and organic ‘it says’. It’s for pond treatment but says it’s just straw pellets. Has anyone tried this product? Or know any reason in particular it wouldn’t work.

Got the humidity tent for fruiting set up. It wouldn't hold its humidity with the ends uncovered like this though so I cut a couple pieces of poly to cover the ends. Its holding rh really well now, but it's also not really getting any FAE. Any ideas on the best way to get good FAE for fruiting? I was thinking a small exhaust fan one side and it should pull in fresh air from the corners and cracks. I also thought maybe just cutting a few small slits on each side, but that may not be enough.

@AgarStudent - I grow in the shower as well. I have a water-proof PC fan from House of Hydro on the bottom rack gently blowing up. This seems to help with a consistent environment. I was also thinking my 4" duct fan might be a little under-powered, so I was thinking about getting a 6" AC Infinity CLOUDLINE to push more air and fog in at once.

Hey @Asura these pools I'm doing are from the prints you sent me! Any suggestions on FAE for my little tent in my post above? Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Hereigrow, I have no damn idea what I would do with those pools

@Jcm Well that was my original plan, they're in the screened porch and I was planning to just uncover them. But we've kind of had an odd dry spell the past week or so for my Tropical climate and the rh during the day has been like mid 70s mostly, but even as low as mid 50s. The 2 beds that are out on the ground have mostly stopped producing except the odd fruit here and there after I water them and I'm almost 100% sure it's the low humidity. The caps start drying up and dying as soon as they get past the straw on top. So im worried these will have issues, because they're gonna be cased and uncovered this weekend. I'm not sure when the daily rains are supposed to start again so I improvised this tent. I don't want this to all be for naught. Right now the humidity in the tent is holding at 95% and outside its 77%. I just know pans need a lot of FAE so I'm not 100% how to handle that yet.
Edit: I've also got that tiny peppermint box of estero I did with the extras. That's been cased and put to fruiting already and is sitting outside the tent on the porch. I don't know if it would be more productive to leave it there to see how they fruit in the natural rh. Or if I should put it in the tent to see if it gets enough natural FAE.
@Asura hahah thanks man! Yeah I haven't seen this attempted by anyone before so it's new territory! My favorite part of cultivating fungus! I have been told theres an old famous shroomer that was called Old Hippie who did cubes in pools like this, but has unfortunately passed away. It's sad, I'd love to be able to talk to the guy. I plan on doing a pool of cubes as well, but I don't wanna do it side by side with the pans. I've heard cube spores can take over a pan cake.

i would honestly just poke a shit load of holes in that plastic sheet and pull it tight over the top of it and maybe melt some holes thru the pool under the lip and around the pool for fae to come in thru and up and out of the holes of the plastic cover 🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼 idk man really

That’s what I was thinking too/\/\ just leave that plastic on and poke holes, but the. Again you might not get the evap needed for pinning. Could poke some slits in that tent, probably work well. Mist the insides real good

Yeah I've had 5 2 inch slits in the poly above each pool since spawning so it could breathe a bit. There's also I bunch of holes in the bottom and the bottome rim I drilled. I thought about just poking more holes but I really don't think that will be enough FAE for a proper fruiting. I've only misted the inside of the poly once and it's stayed heavily condensated. Theres small dry rings around the slits so air is definitely coming through.
I just cut a bunch of slits in the tent and put the little baby estero box in there. So I guess I'll know soon if theres enough exchange. Maybe I'll leave 1 pool outside of it and the other 2 in it to see what works better. If I could just get some rain this wouldn't be an issue.

I think those tents would be fine, your last ones fruited outside with no casing just a thick layer of straw right?
With pan jam most of my plates eventually got stone type things but the wild coast got it before it even colonized the plate.

Yeah the other 2 fruited great for a few weeks, but we had a big Tropical storm so it was literally hot and raining with 95% rh for a for weeks straight. The beds really loved that. But they haven't produced anything substantial in about a week and a half since this weird little dry spells started. And the ones that do pop up dry up and die. That's why I don't want to just uncover them.

Hey Asura,
That’s cool you have a setup like that. It may have been you recommending it to start with. Now that fan you recommend sounds awesome - but can you use the same beast to take humidity out of the chamber? My en-suite slider door to the bathroom hasn’t been primed on the top and bottom, it absorbing steam and starting to warp! Your using it to push humidity in from the humidifier? What are you using to take the humidity away?
I only have a 100mm exhaust duct to move the outflow- but I wonder if I can still use the 6 inch? Even the 4 inch one would need an adapter to 100mm.

Hey CosmicGiggle- Thanks for your recommendation too. Similar to Asura. The infinity brand sounds like the way to go. Shame about the timer though. It is nice to set and forget!

Can anyone help me out here and try to explain what's going on? I've tried to transfer from the second image (with the holes in the myc) to the others and there are patches everywhere. It could be random contamination, but I've not seen it before.
It's Ogre strain and seems to have a very powdery myc.

By the way my cactus mix the other day resulted in some very strong visuals with 1.8 mixed in. But then I puked and it brought the experience to an end a little early. Good apart from the puke...was looking at my mate and it was like scanner darkly with one of those face changing things on.
