I see your point. Nevertheless, I have read in many places (even in this thread) that SHIPS can not be sterilized fully and pose a significant contam risk.
So even if you use a sterile needle, you could push contams from the outside surface of your SHIP into the LC, especially if you use the same ship multiple times to extract LC.

I use SHIPs for growing stones from MS syringes. I get maybe 1 contam every 100 jars.

Man, I saw a permaculture farm where they had a water hose coiled inside a big pile of aging manure. It got so hot in that pile they could have steaming hot showers from the water going through that hose.

Awesome thank you and yes that’s why I want to know everything about them first😁 I only have a few grows done so far so I’m still a noob so far. Yea the Psilocybe cyans I have are the wavy cap. Would those be different then what your write up says? Or is it the same?

Nice, Luv! Just streaked some plates with wild coast this weekend. Hope mine look that good.
2nd flush on my small tray (in the background) came up pretty uniformly, not all staggered like this other tray. Probably harvest the small tray before I go to bed tonight along with the ones that are ready from the bigger tray.
The other big (standard 3 qt) tray is pinning much slower than these two. Pin set took awhile to show up after harvesting, but today it looks like it’s finally starting to fill in. 2/3 of the casing layer on that tray is black from spores from the first flush and the casing feels much harder/less absorbent than before it was covered in spores. Normal?

Jcm I meant to ask you, does your frozen tea made with fresh fruit really feel the same as eating them 100% fresh? I don’t know anything about psilocin degradation. Would have assumed if dehydrating them causes the psilocin to degrade that making tea would do the same.

id say its exactly the same as takin fresh fruits and making tea drom them. but if u were to take the fresh fruits and eatem as u pick them pretty much they would be a lil stronger but the difference is not that extreme at all

Just curious why some of these P. Cyan Australian grow like hairs in one cake and grow nice and fat in another? My substrate is mostly cow poo, vermiculite and gypsum with some coir added. Do you think this is due to substrate, spawn ratio or any other factors?
Thanks for any suggestions

The pools are nearing full colonization, I'll probably case them tomorrow or the next day!
Forgot to add the pics!

Things are moving right along, even have a few oat sprouts in each pool 🤷♂️

Yeah I noticed that. I was trying to figure out the best way of ensuring homogeneous humidity throughout the chamber, which is really my shower with a humidifier in it. Maybe some cpu fans will help if they last a miracle week before the humidity kills them?

Looks great Hereigrow! Excited to see how the pools turn out!

So they are looking good but when do it chop them?
I took prints from the biggest ones that were dropping spores so I guess I'll let the others catch up?

Giveaway coming soon! Anyone on this thread that wants a Wild Coast print, PM me.
Sweet as! and thanks again JOC!

I was worried about this too (fan getting killed by too much humidity) MF noted they used the same brand I’m using (AC Infinity axial, or something like that) and that it lasted over a year inside the tent for them.
However, there are little waterproof cpu/accessory fans on coolerguys that I was looking into (look for “IP55 rated” fans on there), but they didn’t come with a power cord plus more expensive to begin with, so I just got another one from the same brand I was already using. I like the AC Infinity axial fans because you don’t have to do any special wiring, they come with a power cord that plugs directly into an outlet and they’re only $15-$18 (depending on size) with free shipping on amazon. If that can last me a year That’s cool with me.
Also worth noting I got a speed controller for the “high speed” accessory fan I got to make it blow slower, but when it’s hooked to a cycle timer eventually (within hours in my case) it will stop kicking on when the cycle timer tells it to, unless I adjusted the dial on the speed controller. If I just nudged it in either direction that would be enough to make the fan kick on, but that’s not helpful cause you’d have to sit in your grow room all day. But, if you have it setup to where it’s just plugged in/turned on 24/7 you won’t have a problem. Speed controller was only an issue when plugged into the cycle timer. I couldn’t have it on 24/7 without it drying things out too much though, so I just use the “low speed” version of the same fan.

Got the fruiting tent for the Pan Pools set up! I should be able to just slide them in after casing.
Also, any idea wtf is on this plate? I thought some kind of contam but now theres pins popping from there. Sclerotia?
