Even if the half dozen pins I got right now are all that develop, I will be happy. And hopefully with everything I’ve learned in the short amount of time since putting my first tray into fruiting conditions, I bet the tray I cased two days ago will do even better.
Jake, would love one of those PHV prints. I love the color of those things.
That looks way too dry those are probably fried by now. They need to be almost soaked constantly.

Thank you. I’ve learned a lot in the short time these trays have been in the tent. Still working on getting everything dialed in. I’ve been using the hygrometer and the water build-up on the handles of the trays as a foundation for my decision making on adjusting the timing and power on my humidifier and the timing on my fan. I’ve touched the casing with the tip of my freshly washed finger several times to see how it feels and it’s been everywhere from slightly moist to wet/shiny.
But, these things popped up in the last 6 hours, and the conditions haven’t changed in that time. Would they still even form pins in the same environment that would fry them just a few hours after they popped up?
I will probably try to prep my bulk slightly more wet next time to see if there’s a noticeable difference as these trays were prepped to the standard definition of field capacity, but just barely. I said to myself when I was mixing up the bulk that I could probably add more water. And obviously, I will mist my casing a little more frequently
Thanks for the tip aka Edit: also since making that post I’ve seen the beginnings of a few more pins present themselves

They come up so fast it’s crazy. I was so scared I was drowning my first ones that I ended up half frying them.

It was ugly lol. Got a couple doses out of the corner though to motivate me!

No doubt learning to walk the tight rope between enough RH and enough FAE is the main key/last big piece of the puzzle to unlocking these things. But hey, if that was my first grow in your pic, I’d be stoked as hell.
I’m still running on the motivation the cyans I ate 6 Years ago provided me it’ll take much more than a few dead trays to fuck with that.

Hey y'all I posted this but haven't gotten any responses so figured I'd head to the folks that would know best.
Most of my plates of Panaeolus species are turning out looking like this. Cyanescens, cambodginensis, cinctulus all end up looking similar if I let the plate sit too long. They look good and clean then if I forget about them and then go check on them later, they all look like this.
Anyone else come across this before?

Yeah they’ll bruise and I’ve gotten some huge stone like things, along with tons of little ones in a row like yours.

Yeah they definitely look like stones, which seemed normal for cinctulus, but then I saw it on cyanescens, and cambodginensis. I might try and transfer one of those stone like things and see how it grows

They grow great. I cloned a huge one a while ago.
I screwed up and contamed the tub so I gotta start over but the plates keep throwing off clusters of pins.

well keepin im my fingers crossed 🤞🤞i had 2 decent looking bamas in that tray that popped up that were clone worthy. so i just cloned those and a really nice peace river specimen. i just hope they turn out cuz the bamas have such long skinny stems and taking tissue samples from them is a pain in the ass. but the peace river was a big meaty fucker tho.im just glad i got a few decent fruits out of that terrible tray finally. il let them go 1 more flush and see what happens. but the second try at asuras aussies will be ready for trays by weeks end. and i dropped those pan jam wedges to grains today. so there is 1 for sure good grow comin up soon😃😃

Pan tropicalis does it too. I had a tray that didn’t pin probably because of the environment at the time but it had this tumor looking growth that just kept growing when I tossed the tray I pulled the stone and cut it in half and the whole thing turned a dark blue. I tried to clone it and had no success. The tray was most likely too far gone at that point.

Didn’t grow too much since yesterday, but enough to turn their caps from that ugly grey/blue/brown to this nice orange/copper. Plenty of new pins too that I’ll post pics of once they look a little more photogenic.

More mist!
lol nice man hopefully they’ll grow two inches a day for you.
I’m pretty sure my wild coast plate is making tiny stones like the cinctilus pic up there. That or it’s contaminated.

I meant to comment on why the fruits look so dry. After your comment yesterday I misted and turned my fogger on full power. When I got home today the casing was quite saturated and the pins were wet n shiny, so I put a little Low speed accessory fan right next to the tray for about 5 min to dry them off a little and help evap some of that water since they’d been like that presumably all day. But, I assure you the casing layer is Wet.
I don’t have anymore jars of these Beulahs waiting in the wings, but by the time Im done with the trays I should be ready to spawn a few Cyan Hawaii jars and a couple Cambo sandose. Just gave them their first shake yesterday.

Lighting in the grow room isn’t good, looks much more grey in the pic than it really is. lookin in the sunlight.

I think I've finally had success with these wild cin. spores. These are on day 21 now and I'm not sure what to do. I think I should take sections of the fastest best looking mycelium and transfer it new agar, then put the rest to grain? Any help would be great and suggestions as to what parts would be good candidates for transfer to new agar would be super helpful, thanks!

I think this is the first time I’ve seen pins with caps on them. The batch of agar was bad so I left it unwrapped after opening it it grab previous pins so I think the extra air must’ve done it.
