Any of you using store bought poo? I need to buy some tomorrow because the stuff I pasteurized was rotten. I have horse fields surrounding me, but all the shit is wet, since it is winter. No bueno.
Recommendation on brands, what store to go to? Never bought poo before, so I'm not sure what to look for exactly.
Need to spawn these cinctulus and cyan this weekend.
Thanks.

It smells fucking horrible. I thought it would be bad to spawn? Maybe its fine that it smells absolutely heinous, even after pasteurization?
I thought it might not smell as bad after pasteurization but it does.

You bought horse shit on ebay?
I was hoping local, I don't have time to wait. Let alone shipping costs.
Thanks for the offer though, it would work well if I had time.

yeah I spent a couple weeks looking for something local and had to go that route.
you'd think it wouldn't be so hard to find shit, but it is where im at. weird cause im not too far from a lot of farm country.
im still looking but it's near impossible it seems.

i'd get some straw and about 20-30% of the store bought, cincs do well on straw as do cyans but a little manure can help.

I bought mine from home depot. Big bag of composted steer manure. Been fine for cubes, great actually. I find that it doesn't need any extra water, I first pour boiling water into a half brick of coir and then let that expand and then dump 4q of the poo in, comes to the perfect consistency. Pasteurize using Eats oven tek and the whole thing is done in a few hours. I really have been loving it. Haven't gotten any pan fruits yet. Lots of jars that are colonized and nowhere to fruit them...I've been improvising little containers but having 2" subs really spreads the spawn out.

This is my current tub. Pan cyan Goliath it was called but who knows. Out of the four species I had this was the most aggressive, I wanted to do one in each bin, but the others jar are literally colonized now. Totally weird.
Going to case it tomorrow. Some had a bit higher spawn ratio, I'll have to be more careful next time, maybe I'll weigh the spawn.

fan or not during pre-pinnig stage? Last time cpu fan worked all the time in my gh and it was succefull, maybe try another approach? and start fanning since first pins appeared.
fruiting starts today

No need to fan the substrate directly, maybe only a bit after a heavy misting to kickstart the evaporation process, but in your case you should loosen up the top poly and give it more FAE.
