Yeah, I just heavily mist after each harvest.
Reason being, is because the sub is still fairly hydrated (still heavy) The only part that needs to be replenished is the surface of the sub/casing layer.
Pans dont require as much water/frequent waterings as cubies..

Pan cyan Jamaica spores > agar. A bit overgrown (I was away for awhile), but I took my first transfers today.
Here's pan cyan Hawaii on agar. Almost ready to get put into grains

Yeah I recently read that there are no issues with dunking pans. I think I'll try a dunk after second flush when my pans get going.

mr fox, ive always misted pan casings. they are usually so thin and the fruits pop up so fast. but i did want to attempt a dunk to see how it worked out. ive seen some pretty massive 2nd and 3rd flushes with pans being dunked. ill give it a go soon.
ive tiger dropped a bunch on oats. then we have some tiger drops from left to right: KSS, PE, Pan Jamaica, P. Tamps, ATL7

i also did 10 quarts of cornmeal mush plate liquid inoculation today with pan. jamaica. ill post the full colonization pics in order for the thread!

Nope I did a typical zigzag style swipe of spores with a loop. I just was out of town for awhile, and it got overgrown a bit .
It germinated looking like fluffy white puff balls, it's almost as if the puff balls moved outwards leaving the cool kaleidoscope look

Hell yeah, Eat! Looking good!!
I havent heard of anyone dunking Panaeolus tubs... Care to share a link/growlog...???
I dont think my tub is going to produce much more, so I'm going to "attempt" a 2hr dunk tomorrows.
The tropicalis are kinda big(tall).. What did your substrate consist of?

Well then, it will definitely be tonight!
Tomorrow's going to be a busy day anyway. Have a couple trans. from the Goliath, and Cinctulus to make..
Then, make up some more "manure cakes" & RGS jars for the cambo LI.

id bet you could get away with a 1 hour flood type dunk like a tribal dunk. allow about 25% underneath the sub to absorb water for about an hour. i leave a little bit of water flooded on the casing itself for that hour. then pour off and reintroduce back into fruiting conditions with cubes. im thinking, pans need even less time. i wonder if maybe a 30 minute dunk would be beneficial. i want to explore this more when i get em going.
