Definitely what I am noticing too. When it hits gaps it creates these thick feathers. When stifled, it's cottony stuff. Fairly certain rye is such a fat meal that if it's right next to more, it doesn't rhizo nearly as often. Similar to lowering nutritional density in agar to get it 'reaching'
Pan Cambo is destroying a 4L* bag 3x quicker than my 5L PESA did. 500ml rye spawn.**
Trick is to give it a nutritious fluffy habitat.
* pasteurized 2.5h @ ~155 2.25L poo 1.75L mix of 50% Verm, 15% Perlite, 10% spent grounds, 5% Stevia leaf, 1c Gypsum, 1/2c Oyster shells, 1/8c bee pollen, 2 zinc tabs, 15mg melatonin. Splash of diluted to 40% weak coffee for liquid
I always mix in perlite with poo. Seems to keep it fluffier than straight verm. (at least the 'top-soil like' aged steer manure I get here) HPoo may be wildly different.
Hoping to share some pr0n in the thread shortly.

Yep. This strain is from Thailand, where my 2nd home is. Never drops below 27 degrees Celsius (80 F) Close to 100 in April. Typically only a 5 degree swing from day to night
** Rye pints will crap out very often. Shaking is most likely required, yet it stalls for days afterwards. Very reliant on a clean jar. Grass seed seems far better for aeration. Loves Nyjer too (oil seed so only as additive) This is the main source of amino acids for it's life cycle, so I prefer all grain to bulk.
But my early experiments are showing RGS's royal bitch to get good water retention and a dry outside. Straw pellets work ok for humidity exchange. WIP on grains ...
I think using LI initially and getting better at G2G distribution to the bottom of the pint are crucial skills with Pans. Definitely upping the game

For me Pan myc was extremely slow on agar (admittedly I use a nutritious mix, undiluted grain water) but once I put it to oats it's been devouring it steadily. I'm really excited to be able to fruit the 4 jars that I believe are colonized now. Just drilled all the holes into my tubs so I think I'm good to go, going to pasteurize tomorrow.

About yields from a clone...
I'm sure you'll get better yields, but it surely wont be as good as a cube yield...
Genetic wise, you'll have better yields than multi-spore i guess.
I'm still waiting for my pans to pin, cased and fruited them around 7 days ago, still no sign :'(

My bisporus took almost two weeks to pin. Patience buddy, patience. I'm sure they'll be fine.

Just cased and fruited 3 small containers of Pan Goliath. Also pasteurized a bunch of sub with all sorts of nutrient additives. 4tbl of each Chia Seeds Hemp Hearts Oat Bran Wheat Bran 12 Grain Cereal Gypsum
No idea if it will make a difference but I thought I would try it. Maybe once I get an isolate I'll do a side by side comparison.

Hey man,
Yeah, I haven't been doing anything myco related in quite a few months, so I haven't really been around; then started a few plates in January (Wikidzon, Pan bisporus and Pan cambo Goliath), so I'm back!
Awesome - glad to hear!

I used a spawn ration around 1:3 but only for one flush because of a contamination I presume happened due to improper pasteurization
