@Psilo you are on the normal trajectory for becoming a great pan cultivator. It rarely starts out any differently from what you are experiencing. I am excited for you, man. You'll be dropping canopies before you know it.

Maybe yall can help me out here
I have pan jams and pan alabama on grain (thanks asura!)

First 3 are jams, last 2 are alabama
First one and last one are a2g, middle 3 are LC
Seems like #2 and 3 , the jam LCs , look weird. Whole jar has very thin myc, looks different from the jams (different culture) I did a2g, and looks different than the alabama I did lc or a2g
My inclination would be to assume this is some kinda contam, but I haven't had an LC contam in many years, and I'm not very familiar w what pan myc looks like on grain
Can anyone help clear this up for me?
Much obliged!

i agree hang in there psilo panopies will be a comin 😃😃
asura thats funny😆😆 me and you could have a contest to see who throws away more mushies than the other. just to make ppl go wtf is wrong with these guys lol. i throw so much shit away its not even funny. its almost like im growin them just to take pictures of em and then throw them away lol. i know ive said this before but i really wish so badly that i personally knew someone in my area that was involved in underground psilocybin based psychotherapy for addiction and other mental disorders. even including migrane treatment. i would donate everything other than some personal stash in a heartbeat just to be able to help others who that i belive are doing some of the most ground breaking work in many years in that particular field.
but dont worry asura il send u as many prints of aussies as i can produce.
jake i fuckin loved the looks of those bad boys last time. im rather anxious to see how they look this time around also. im mostly curious about the size factor. cuz last time those things were freakishly huge. and if those can repeatedly put out fruits of that magnitude i really think you created something special that everyone will want for sure

That's what my alabama lc and a2g and jam a2g jars look like, but the jam lc looks different
Different cultures tho so I figured it was worth asking

I have a question about panaeolus cyanescens. How do you know when it’s ready to harvest being that there is no veil like cubensis. I have a tray going right now and they are about 3 in tall still pretty small.

Thank you for your kind words and helpful teks Asura. I’m trying to learn and keep my expectations low. Here’s to 5 more fruits!

hey man those look great especially if your fruiting them the way i think you may be. could you explain your method a lil? or is it just a typical humidity chamber using perlite?? if so im amazed at the results. just cuz everytime i tried it here they would die on me after growing about an inch above the casing. since i am gone 14-16 hrs a day i was not able to keep it humid and warm enough and also the casing would dry out since i couldnt syringe water it all day.
but as far as harvest time goes. you want to wait until they start taking on a lighter color and the caps flatten out and start curling upwards. like this but your almost there those look very nice man. again congrats😃

I hear you guys, I definitely got super lucky with the ms genetics, I’m just happy with the improvement from the first round which was the same spawn. Hopefully future grows go as well.
I’ve got clone plates from a blob/stone, a super thick fruit from my first grow, and now three from the huge cluster I just had.
Definitely going with a bigger sub this time.
What do you guys do for lighting?? These don’t seem to need very much compared to cubes.
Looking back I’m surprised they grew so straight cuz they had very little light. I had them off in a corner inside the big underbed tub with a black lid on.

@Jake
I know in your tek you say you let the substrate be for atleast 5 days before using it. It's been 5 days for me today. I thought my spawn would be ready but not all the jars are. Just spawned a few of them.
My question been what is the longest you waited after pasterurizing substrate for Pans before using it? Guessing my spawn be ready about 7-8 days after I pasteurized. Still worth it or I'm I to late?
Also.. do you use foil on the trays as the colonize or just the lid? My kids are wavy so was afraid I might get tons of dripping on the substrate.

Glad I only pulled a few “aborts” yesterday.

Has anybody ever tried making trays with way less spawn than normal? The amount of mushrooms coming out of this is amazing, especially considering there’s very little grain in it.
Also...I can now call this a complete success.

I have a humidity tent set up with a cool mist humidifier with three tubes attached to each tier and suprisingly at each leve the same amount of humidity comes out and the cool mist alone keeps the humidity at 92-100 all day. When I leave I even turn it down it bit but misty it runs all day. I made skits at each level in tent for some more FAE. Water started to collect a lot at the tray at the bottoms so I dumped some perlite in the bottom and to my surprise it only stabilized the humidity more for me. I have three 6500 bulbs at each level as well. It’s all automated with a timer so all I really have to do is check on it periodically and harvest!! It’s better than fanning and misting for proper suface moister everyday. I still have a couple Monos going as well next to the tent. I went ahead and harvested to pans this morning and found this.

Also here’s a pic of the set up
