I ordered some spores, they should arrive by the weekend. Gonna try another pan grow soon.
I will get the goliath and jamaica strain / variety.
Any particular unique characteristics about these that I should be aware of? Any helpful info would be awesome.
I managed to fruit a couple of pan growkits a few weeks back, so getting the right fruiting conditions should be no problem. Getting the right substrate is the key I guess. Will try a mix of mainly straw and some horse manure, maybe some verm and coir mixed in but I'm not sure yet.
My last try was no succes. I inoculated a bag of grain with a syringe but lost it to mold. Does pan mycel grow on pure grain at all? I can make a bag of straw instread. Or a mix of grain and straw?
I'm new to pan growing from scratch..

Both are Heavily domesticated And come with some problems but that doesn’t mean they won’t work they just may require a little extra effort and you might get some dwarfs

Yeah the myc will work on grain same as cubes.
I used wbs then spawned it to cow manure and verm.

Oh shit I thought he meant can you make grainspawn with pans.
Definitely agar.
Pans are picky sometimes with plates right? Where everybody was going spore to grain then pulling a grain out to drop on a plate and clean up?
Jcm whatever these Jamaican/Cambos are they’re definitely making stones on plates. I’ve got blue ones and tan ones now that are like half an inch across and almost to the lid.

c10, interested to see what you experience. Any time that type of culture has shown up for me, it's never fruited.

Oh uh. I just grained a plate cloned from one of these stone things.
Hopefully it fruits, the plate in this picture is a transfer from the one I used for my first grow and that did ok. I poked through the sub a little too when I threw it out and there were no stones. Weird it’s only on plates.

I put some to a bag of brown rice once to test this and it made those blobs all throughout the bag. When I broke up the bag all the mycelium pretty much died right there.

I've seen the little blue ones on old pan plates a lot but not like that big blobber.

It got big all of sudden a couple days ago. Idk if it’s my agar or what but I’ve got I think three with blobs that size and color.
I’ll prob pop them off and eat them eventually to see what they do.
They’re all the way through the agar too, you can see them pressed up against the bottom. I figured they were just knots that couldn’t quite pin at first but that’s clearly not it now.

Hi there
I hope I'm not hijacking this thread — happy to delete if I am.
I'm trying to fruit ps mexicana which I figure has more in common with pan cyans than ps cubensis when it comes to fruiting.
Do you think the same principles discussed in this thread can be used to fruit mexicana?
