Nice pics sara!
So I just shook one of the two pan cyan hawaii jars. It bruised a lot and was blue before even shaking in a couple spots. Was a real pain to break up, which I wasn't expecting. I'll let the other one grow out a bit more.

The pan cyan is recovering nicely from the shake. Hopefully not too long before I am able to spawn it. Less than two weeks I would hope.
The pan bisporus jars are doomed. I noticed some thicker growth in the old agar jar. I am hoping it is bisporus myc and not a contam. Looks like good myc though. I transfered it and it is growing nicely on the new plate already. I'll take another transfer once it grows out and try my luck. I think that perhaps you just need to get the right strain with this species? Whispy and slow seems to be the case for most people. This new myc looks thicker and whiter and more like the pan cyan.
Swiped foxes pan cambo so hopefully I will be joining that party soon

Good luck with that bro
I was thinking the same thing, i want to know which is best to transfer..
I think its mostly on luck, genetics is really hard to determine with the characteristics of the mycelium, it tend to differ sometimes..
But if someone knows any tips, we would really appreciate it and it would make things easier for us

Yeah I mean cubes don't give seem to care, those things are like weeds. But I think perhaps some of these more delicate species require stronger strains to do well swiping and taking one transfer just isn't always enough.
I could be very wrong, this is just what I seem to be noticing. Advice from those more experienced with exotics would be helpful. I know with edibles at least some species take a ton of work to clone or get isolates until you get one that will fruit at all, or anything of worth. So I imagine the same could be true for some active grainlovers.

my bisporus got thick as well, as for transferring without a scope all you really want to do is go for those fastest leading edges like anything else, folks often refer to exotics as "delicate" but just because there myc is whispy don't mean much, they are far frm delicate they are very aggressive

Yeah I mean I know they can be aggressive. But for some people they seem to be weak. And certain species tend to seem weaker. I don't mean whispy necessarily. This bisporus is wispy but slow. Reishi is whispy and fast as hell. If that makes sense. I think it just might matter what genetics you are transferring to grain from an ms plate is all. You might get unlucky. Does that make sense?

gotcha bisporus is a fairly new species as well and may not be as domesticated as others

Did someone say bisporus?

It seems to be just starting to colonize the casing now.

So I've got some pan substrate in pp5 quart containers. About an inch thick, three done from colonized oats one done from an LI.
Do you think they get enough GE/FAE with the lid turned a part of the way like cubes or will I need to improvise a chamber for them?

I don't think he should, Pan mycelium is really sensitive...
It'll fully colonize sooner or later, don't need to rush things
Edit: Love your Pan grow Gt40, fucking sexy af!
