Girlfriend: let's have a pasta bake tonight.

erm...maybe you could use that metal dish.

Girlfriend: that's way too small...

Honestly, use the metal dish

Puduwoke... congratulations!

As I've been mulling over what I did wrong I came across this:

https://mycotopia.net/topic/5148-hydrated-lime-vs-calcium-carbonate/

Which underscores my error in "eye balling" the tiny amount of hydrated lime that I added to my jiffy mix. Not going to guestimate any more and after reading some casing recipes, I ordered some calcium carbonate. The comparison of the two casing additives is also echoed in remarks by Asura in his casing recipe and discussion. (Thanks for that).
Now I'm just trying to decided if I want to try to salvage these trays or start from scratch.

Thank you all for the information. Thank you jcm and zifo for helpful PMs. Thank you Asura & Jake for some great write ups. I'm learning ... even as my recent attempt was hardly a success.

I have more Bisporus coming in. Biggest success so far (7 visible pins at once, 2 of them about to mature). The 2 ones are relatively chonky, although not as much as I would like. But I finally know what they need and require.

Good thing is that Bisporus doesn't need NEARLY as much FAE as other Pans. In fact, at times I gave them as little FAE as possible. They did just fine! :ohwow:

Does this look too dry? Wet? More casing? This after about an hour in the fruiting chamber I’m messing with.

Hopefully it doesn’t overlay and never pin.

Hey guys !

With temperature finally going up, I can grow again !

I need your help to identify those little guys please. Could it be :
  • Panaeolus Cambodginiensis Sandoz Domesticate
  • Panaeolus Tropicalis
  • Panaeolus Cyanescens Hawaii

P.S : The story behind it : I was supposed to fruit a KSSS tray but I dropped and mixed 4 of them in transport : /
The temperature was so cold till now, the first mushrooms were weird

Yeah I mean the microscope definitely helps you further clarify however it’s more helpful at determining Bisp and trop pan cam can be done also but it’s a little more in depth. But those pheno’s are 100% sandoze.

Cleaned up my grow room today. That's how bored I was. The inside of my fogger
bucket looked like that toilet in Train Spotting. Holy shit, I gotta stay on
that.
