I was thinking the same thing about the T1 you like.
But why take more from the fuzzy one if you don’t like the first transfer from it?
I should get a better angle cuz the best t1 on there came from the trash section where the two colonies combined now.
I think I took two more T1s and two or three t2s yesterday so I’ll put those up in a day or two. They’re growing much quicker than cubes do the transfers are already recovered and spreading less than 24 hours in.

id take more just cuz like asura said. sometimes that thick shit is good but there is just so many strands in there its hard to see till u thin it out a bit. id take a few more and if it keeps doin the same thing trash it. but the best lookin one u got id take a few from that and keep as your master for now and grow the transfers out put to grain and fruit. get yourself sum good clones then go from there. cuz otherwise we can just sit here and isolate till the cows cone home lol know what i mean😃 but ur def on the right track man. hopefully asura will chime in on it soon cuz id take his advice over mine im still new to the species as well

So, horse poo...
I get that it needs to be field-aged: sun-dried and rain-leached. I grew up in horse country, so I know full and well fresh horse shit from seasoned.
My question is in pertinence to the actual water content when pasteurizing. Anymore around here, we don't really see more than a few days without a somewhat saturating rain... even if the shit is stopped thin and looks like lawn clippings, there's always a moist subsurface layer. So... big deal or no? Will adding less water/more dry straw at pasteurization be a good enough workaround so long as I get it to field capacity?

Ok cool thanks guys, that gives me a better idea of what I’m looking for.
The t1 on the bottom left that jcm said was the best one came from the same spot Jake suggested on the germ plate.
I poured a bunch of plates yesterday so I’ll swipe another and see what happens. Hopefully one of my transfers will turn out decent enough to run and clone like you said.
Judging by Jakes pics it seems like clones are way more solid than ms with pans, where with cubes the difference is much less noticeable. Is that because most cube varieties are so stabilized now that even ms grows turn out great most of the time?

Cant say it's a "big deal" or not but all my hpoo I keep in old open oat bags in the garage. Occasionally there will be large chunks that has sub surface moisture. Those I break up and keep in a cardboard box for later use.
Edit - I think the main reasoning behind making sure it's dried is that theres no residual urine\ammonia present. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Ah... that might do it. Don't have a shed of my own right now, but I can probably get away with leaving boxes/paper bags of horse shit near the lawnmower... looks pretty much the same as what you'd see near a lawnmower anyway.
Thanks, grim.
edit: Yeah, it's not stable manure or anything - there's a bunch of nature preserves/state parks around here that allow horseback riding. If I take the right trail, I can pretty much get a few 5gal buckets full just on one trek almost any time.

A buddy I work with has a smart horse that shits in the same spot in a pasture so he's not shitting all over his grazing field. Makes it easy for me to load feild aged hpoo into bags without having to deal with urine soaked stable hpoo. I'm in great debt to that horse.

I don't think the mosture content will matter I think using field aged just makes it have dirt consistency instead of poop goo. That's just my assumption.
I don't worry about moisture content when I pasteurize bc I use more water than I need. When it's ready I hand scoop it out and squeeze. It takes me a little longer but I break up dense pieces I find in the manure and my subs are having a nicer consistency than if I don't.

Awesome - thanks, guys. And a special hats-off to our equine friends.
I guess I forget that you're dealing with a lot less sub than your typical run of monotubs - squeezing to get to field capacity isn't as much of a task if need be. I wonder, is that poo juice perhaps akin to what I've read of Mary using for her agar? Manure tea, of course, sounding much more delicate.

Yes in my opinion pan clones work much better than multi spore I think the reason people sometimes claim they’re not is because if you are not optimizing fruiting conditions you won’t notice the difference but in optimal conditions the difference becomes clear

Jakeoncid, I did it. Built a jartha. Bought my chopped straw. Gonna try your slow cooker thing too. When I let it age to build up microbes do I just leave it in the slow cooker for 5 days? Don't really want to use a pc bag for pasteurized sub, was thinking pillowcase? Gonna use asura's bag Tek for the next monos.
Got tamarind-tree bvi, Warren cinct, and wild coast t1's done over the weekend.

Right on spirit! Although I hate to break it to you there’s a good chance that fan is going to die rather quickly running fog through it like that. You also will eventually decide to upgrade to a larger diameter hosing. Def a good start tho! Bathroom fans work great and are only $14 at Home Depot. Do u have the cycle timers?

I'm waiting for it to die for sure but I figure an inline fan or bathroom fan still has exposed components right?
Right now I don't have cycle timers but I have it hooked to the inkbird. At 91% the fogger turns off with the Martha full of fog still. After a few min the Rh goes up to 92% and the fan comes on. Once the fan comes on my rh starts climbing again as the fog evaps from the fresh warm air coming in. Fan runs about ten min before rh comes back down to 91% then steadily drops to 78% and it starts over.
You have nice cycle timers, I still need to pick up a couple. Still working the kinks but I picked the trays clean and am looking to the next flush to dial it in. When the fog stops the caps are wet but when the fan is done running they're not wet anymore.
