Seems like a lot has changed in the Panaeolus culture world- some really beautiful grows from so many different names... & Jake has shown repeatedly that his high evap. fruiting chamber setup is the way to go. Consider Jake for Tag please!Quote:

I wanna try that method, too.
My damn fogger head shorted out today. Came home to the grow room smelling like burnt plastic. Fired up the spare, but I'm going to order another back up.

Jars in the sous vide sucks. I feel your pain there. Might work better using oven bags instead.
I have a Ninja slow cooker. Like this one it isn't very big. Probably only pasteurize enough sub for 1 bag.

A long time ago I had a friend that rebuilds industrial coffee makers. We got a big strainer/pot that could fit inside another big pot and he wired up a heating element, float switch and thermostat. It was made to run 170-180. I could stuff it full of straw or pillow case of manure and it would pasteurize for hours. The only problem was that if the water was too high it would short one of the sensors. We were gonna rebuild it with a better sensor but I moved shortly after. Was a great device until I broke it.

I was thinking to hook up a big tote with a heating element and steam pasteurise in it, has anyone done anything similar?

So I’ve got a few different kinds this is one of them but as long as it has a keep warm function it should work just fine the keep warm function usually falls between 160 and 165°F you can do larger batch is using just a large container and hot water however it is likely that portions of your bulk will exceed 170° now it said this doesn’t matter and the microbes will mix in all the way through but that’s why I like the keep warm function in the electric cooker’s

I use jumbo ziplock bags (spawn bags work too) stuff the bag full while in the pc bowl then I use lid rings on top of the bag so the pc lid pushes the bag of bulk down so it’s fully submerged when locked
