Supposedly it was a wild specimen found by the senders buddy and was domesticated. The sender sent me some pics of all 3 types of growth. The albinos were for real from the pics and were pans. I have my cakes in fruiting mode as we speak, so we will see if I get any albino growth. I'll post some pics.if I do.

I have recently been working with them invitro style using cakes with good results. Not great yields by any means, but easy and quick:

I even saw some grow true inviro:

hey peacefrog. good job! i was wondering what size tub that was and how much you yielded off of it. also great agar work. how many transfers did you do from multispore to get to that stage? were they potent? how was the trip ? please let us know.

Yield was very good for pans. I use a mini tub ~13X9 inches or so. I like the smaller ones for pans personally. And it is a known tested isolate that performs well. Here was my dried yield after 3 flushes:

The agar work does not represent a pure culture, as there is still some sectoring going on, but it is the best pics I have of pan myc. to date. Those plates are anywhere from 5-8 transfers. They needed a few more to get a mono culture. It can take several transfers to achieve a pure culture IME.
They were as potent as any pan I have grown or tried. They all seem about the same to me. VERY potent indeed. Their potency makes up for their small stature and smaller yields verses cubes. But IMO, they are SO much better and cleaner than cubes.

Hey Peacefrog, what were your temps during colonization/fruiting?
I'm trying to fruit my monotub at 68f, but the pins just keep stalling at the surface and abort. My other mono refuses to finish colonizing too.
I may have to wait till this summer to attempt another pan grow

Same as cubes I run all mine at room temps. 68-75 degrees F has always worked for me. The higher temps recommended make them grow faster but not that much.
That tub was grown last Christmas when the temps stayed on the colder side. Never have an issue.

could be a humidity issue then.
I've been battling aborts cause my sub is drying out from the heater I have to run

pans will fruit/mature in cold temps easyy, they just mature slower.
Humidity isn't the issue either.
The problem is elsewhere.. &&I'm betting it's the late casing you applied.

Maybe, I think you're right. Seems like the late casing kinda stunted all the primordia growth on the surface. I'm gonna case the other mono soon. Then fruit it after 30% of the surface gets re-colonized. It's nice to have some reassurance that it wasn't just the cold temps. Thanks guys.

Ye they are dry, haha these jars were acctaully inoculated with PES amazon and i just found out that the spores were bunk and couldn't germinate for some reason this jar is like 4 weeks old
So instead of wasting and throwing it, i dropped the agar in it
Will be shaking today.

Well i have another testing jar that i reinoculated it to, and they still don't seem to be germinating, i think i'll drop some of the spores on PDA agar to see what happens, i read somewhere that PDA contains some type of compound that helps spores to germinate or something.

Hope you don't mind if I ask you a few questions.. How long has it been fruiting?.. Is that a FC it's in? what's your RH/Temp?
