How sensitive to misting are they really?
I misted one of my trays just to see and they didn't abort. The only ones that did were ones I tippd over harvesting the first flush. I misted primordia and pins with caps.

To be honest, I don't know. I just read it in the TEKs and thought, I'd better stick to it.

If the mist is (almost) as fine as from the ultrasonic, couldn't they withstand it? I mean, the ultrasonic blows mist onto them after pinning, right?

So these were test trays to get the new inkbird setup. I lost power to the Martha a few days in a row and the sub dried. These fruits only grew a few inches.

I picked the first 'flush' and these ones came in. I was trying to keep them hydrated until I got things dialed in so in this pic they look wet bc I just misted them.
I got like two and a 'half' flushes before they stalled. Was a good learning experience tho.
These were those trays that started pinning before the sub was colonized or cased. I ended up sprinkling some casing over the first pins.
Same thing with this mono, sub was too dry and I got a few fruits. Picked them and misted the shit out of everything then this flush happened. Still no aborts that I saw.

I believe that they will abort, I just didn't see it happen. Thought it's all going to die from being too dry or abort from misting so I went for it.

i've seen it go both ways. i think they can tolerate being wet only a very short time. so if it was very dry, and they got wet and dried quickly afterward, it's less likely to be catastrophic. if they get wet and dry over the course of hours, they abort.

Water droplet size definitely seems to make a difference when you see in some pictures my fruits are glistening water clearly glistening off of them however every time I’ve tried to mist it’s aborted most fruits.

I must have just got lucky. Hopefully this time there won't be any mishaps and I won't have to mist.

Pans are such a treasured prize I wouldn't want noobs to get derailed by thinking it's ok to mist them. Start of with discretion and when you have your shit right then start experimenting.

Totally agree. I was just surprised when these tolerated it. Shit happened, I was in salvage mode, obviously not ideal. I made a lot of mistakes and I'm just lucky they wanted to survive. Now that I've been through it once I have a better idea what I'm looking at. I've got a list of things I need to do different and lots of good advice to put to use.

RAID kills bugs dead!!! MISTING kills pans dead!!!
atleast in my experience that has always been the case. as jake said i also notice my pans totally glistening with tiny droplets all over them but that is from my conditions in the fc. and so far it seems my fruits love being like that but only from the humidity. if i was to mist them even as med sized fruits they will bruise like a bitch turn black n die. anytime i need to water my casing i use a syringe and b very careful to not soak any lil pin heads while doing it. they r touchy lil bastards. im only on my 3rd go at them rite now but that is just what i have noticed
