Idk some of the best preforming genetics (including pic above) have come from wild to me. Senguio, hausteca, & Jalisco were all collected in Mexico over the summer and I started with a wild print or gill frag. Those are 3 of my best preformers. TX, Alabama & peace river do well too. Hawaii and Jamaica are the weakest performers. And sandoze has required lots and lots of work I’m still trying to get it where I want it and that’s the most domesticated one.....

i think i may order a seng print tho cuz i really like the way those look. that pic of that spawn jar on top of there is crazy as hell and that took balls and confidence to even try lol. if id have done that even on my best pan grow yet it would have resulted in smashed broken fruits lol so again a job well done there man

Jake you have the sexiest pan trays I have ever seen. I am about to give up on my Jamaican prints & sum it up to too old. 1 plate of 10 popped, grew 1/4" but wont move on any agar I throw at it now. I threw 4 different recipes (PDYA,MEA,water& Grain water agar at her & she stalled out or is just so slow I have no intrest in even trying. On a good note I took RDU to grain masters 5 min ago & got my Tropicalis moving nicely. Prob T1 transfers in 2 days. As Asura said i am pumped too. I might even go collect some field aged poo tomorrow to dry rather than my standard box store shit i used in the past out of lazieness lol.

Asura said: Exactly what I've thought, Hans. With cubes, who knows how many times all those varieties have been grown out over and over and over again? They have become very domesticated. Pan cyans doesn't have the numbers like cubes. Maybe that will change one day.
That was one of the first things I noticed when I was researching before getting into cult. Looking at the ancient threads this site suggests there’s a night and day difference in ms grows from then and now.
That would also explain why it seems a lot of the guys who’ve been doing this a long time are wary of ms.
When I got basically a canopy my first grow after using a syringe and having no idea what I was doing I was almost positive it had to be the years of mushroom eugenics making it very hard to get a shitty yield.
This is true. This is why I collect wild prints. I think just bc they have been domesticated to produce doesn't mean there isn't magic in the rest of the genes nature intended. We grow them in very controlled environment but in nature they are competing to survive. Virility.
I'm working with a mix of unlabeled 2012 prints and one wild one. Almost nothing germinated. The few colonies that did seem like they revived the dead spores. The pitri was covered in dead spores. As the colonies spread everything came back super aggressive. I have test cakes ready to birth. I'm tripping hard rn but this is my progress. These are cubes but I'm working with an F1 pan print as well. Virgin islands.
I just think the ppl that collect these wild prints and make them available are important and so are ppl who choose to grow from the unknown. I don't know anything about field collecting but I appreciate those that do it for the rest of us.

That’s what I was gonna ask, you gonna clone the big ones or clusters?
That’s probably a dumb question, both obviously.

I'm approaching day 5 after casing the trays. I should see pins forming in the next 1-2 days. As I must not mist them after they appear, I'm desperately trying to spot them every day before misting...
My problem is, that I have no idea about how those early pins would look like. How big/small are they? As I have understood, the casing will not be colonized so I can not see any Primordia/Knots forming. I fear that I could be overlooking the first pins and kill them all by excessive misting.
Does anybody have a picture of the first pins starting to form on the casing, so that I have an image on what to look out for?
Edit: Nevermind, I think I found something. For someone who is interested:
