So I have several pitris colonized with whispy clean growth. It's hard to see the whispy growth in the pic but it's mostly colonized. These white fluffy spots have started showing up and I'm not sure if they are desirable to transfer or if this is the growth that overlays and sucks. It's on a pitri that's been sitting around as back up. This is a transfer so these shouldn't be new colonies from spore. They just appeared scattered around so I've been watching them. Pan cyan gator.

Here's my pan cyan gator mono I spawned Saturday.

Still working on doing what I can to salvage what I can! Not sure what the indication is when any of these are ready to pick. A solid learning experience nevertheless, and maybe that's the important part.

clearly much room for improvement, but hot damn son. get your conditions dialed in and it'll be epic. good work.
i like to pick right before they fully flatten out, because i find the prints are the prettiest.
ha, then along comes jake and says something like, "'at's not a knoif..."

Not a bad run speulking your spawn looks like it was healthy you just gotta keep ur RH from dropping so hard (that’s y ur fruits look wrinkly) Yeah the print window on pans can be tricky the Texas was a little early last night and now I am a couple hours late I’ll still get a bunch of good prints but I should have done it about six hours ago

gotcha- ya i got alot of work to do but its a good thing i enjoy it lol. i got 3 more trays that should be rdy for casing in the next cpl days so hopefully i can pull some good clones and get some better genes goin. i also put some spores to agar today from what u sent me asura so hope to get some nice growth outta those too. but from only doin cubes for the last 3 yrs all i got to say is these fuckers r FAST as hell. i spawned to a 50/50 horse manure and straw mix this time instead of my usual manure coir verm and gyp and the god damn things ran thru it and hit 100% in just 5 days granted they aint big trays but still i cant belive how quick they run. all i want is to pull a nice ass tray like what you guys post pics of. so keep postin them cuz its great motivation for me lol

Thanks guys! Should I let those keep going a bit longer or are they worth picking now and then just focusing on the second run?
Is there any specific recommended fruiting setup for Pans that isn't a full on greenhouse setup? Beggars can't be choosers, but I'm trying to figure out how to reconfigure this to really dial it in just for one successful shoebox. RH this time of year is a bitch to say the least.

Yeah they are fast. So there is no excuse for me being such a lazy grower I've got a lot of pan grows coming up and instead of trying to grow every damn variety I am going to focus on my favorite varieties: jams and aussies. These estero are pretty good, too.
I'll also be doing wild coast, blue springs and a new one from the British Virgin Islands. That's it.
Never before have I seen so many people all doing pans. It's gonna be a good year.

@spelunking SGFC - that's what I would do. I'm working on something new, but... I don't know if it will work yet. Should know in about 10 days.

hell yes it is. its hard to not just want to grow them all tho i know what u mean bit i actually prefer to only do a cpl different types at 1 time. but very very sadly i only have 1 kind of pan cyan at the moment and thats jams. i do wanna get my hands on a goliath, aussi,or a big island hawaii print tho just so i can have something other than the jams cuz id like to have 2 kinds of pans goin when my apes r done. cuz after that its gnna b strictly pans for a while

spelunking: nothing says you can't pick them as they come. they pick much easier than cubes.
i know what i'd do first, but that doesn't make it right. it's basically a microscale of my tent setup, which works for me quite well.
my advice: get a tub, small ultrasonic mister, cpu fan and two timers. pick a tray that's about the same height as the substrate you're putting in it. put that tray inside another, much larger tub. maybe large enough for more than one tray. elevate the tray(s) on something like a rack or metal basket. put water in the bottom of the tub, with the ultrasonic mister. dose this water with a small amount of peroxide to prevent nasty shit growing, and put the mister on a timer. in the lid of the tub, cut a couple holes. over one of the holes, put a cheap cpu fan, blowing in, and attached to the other timer. over the other hole, tape a flap of plastic as a vent cover. when the fan is off, the flap covers the hole. when the fan is on, air rushing out pushes the flap upward. dial the timers so the fan flushes the air completely everysooften, then the mister completely fogs the inside everysooften. no idea how long everysooften is, so... fuck with it until it works. it'll take less than a minute to flush the air and less than the next minute to saturate the fog. do this a number of times per hour or day water the casing as needed, hopefully not very often.
alternately, a humidity controller could be used on the mister, but they're more expensive and i don't think they're any better than dialing in using time and your wits.
or, get you that drill and tub and buckets of perlite.

I'm trying to visualize this and it seems similar to what that angam guy was doing.
And to justify my SGFC comment...I didn't know we were going with moving parts!
