If you are grinding them up to capsule them, I think they would degrade faster because of more surface area.

I spawned these about a week ago. I was expecting the substrate to turn more white but they seem to have pretty even coverage. Are these ready to case?

Doesn't look ready to me. I have some at 6 days now and the surface is totally white. You can't even see the substrate. I'm just waiting for the bottom to grow out a bit more. I don't usually spawn to bulk, but I am guessing it should be ready at about 10 days.

Ok. Those are just shoe boxes but I also spawned a mono last night bc I had spawn needing to be used up. I'll give it more time.
The red down under is coming along. I have several pitris for back up but this jar is almost colonized. The one on the right is pan cyan gator, it's what all my trays are right now.

Suitable for pans? Chop more? It's about 1 to 2 inches for the most part

I started tropicalis and alabama on agar but no germination after 6 days. Sucks. Spores are somewhere around 7-12 months old? Not 100% sure. Fingers crossed though.
I recently moved to the city and it's a drag how far have to drive for horse manure now... I was thinking of buying a minitaure horse/pony and build a little fence in the yard for him or her to run around and play. Do they make little horses about the size of golden retrievers? They probably good for picking up women too, take the minotaur horse to the dog park and the ladies say like omg little horse so cute

It would probably work fine. If it were mine I would probably make it a little finer. Either way, try to make sure you get all the seeds out of it.

Hey guys quick question I have a shoe box of p.bisporous going I used wbs mixed with some bagged store bought manure mix as spawn and spawned it to the same manure mix added to coir. I put a top layer of cour on at spawn and the myc is starting to cover the top in that light fuzz pan myc. So now my question is I've had contam issues recently mainly with my peat so I'm asking can I fruit as is or with just a verm casing. I am just trying to get some prints for now cause I only have it as a syringe from Halloween treat bag deal idc if it fruits amazingly just that it fruits thanks for the help.

I don't think so. Usually people add a verm layer to provide protection from contams on certain kinds of grows, but they scrape it off and case properly after colonization.
I just posted this...maybe this will work?

I do have some cheap seed starter mix it is peat, verm, lime, and tiny amount of perlite I just don't currently have a thermometer to pasteurize and it probably needs casing soon before I get one. That's why I was asking about using verm or coir verm btw thanks for the reply.

hell id run to walmart and spend 6 bucks and pasteurize the peat and verm mix i think youd prolly be happier with the results. iv found that when i use to try casing in all verm years ago it just seemed like a magnet for the green

Yeah I'm bout to run over to the DG near me se if I can get one tbh it could go a few days before casing probably if I had to I see ppl late case on here somtimes anyway. I saw someone on here using sand for pans or tamps as well asura can't remember who I may put some sand in with the seed starter give it a try.
