Jake, after running my Martha with this old ass humidifier that puts out way to much moisture too fast I can totally see why your fogger setup works so well and also how the placement of your intake is strategic to proper conditions. I'm still gonna tinker with this for a bit but I spawned 3 trays of pans tonight. Hopefully I can make them happy. I mostly just wanted to say now I see why your way works and I thinks it's cool. Once I convert the Martha for pans I'll look into replicating your setup. I do want to try once with what I have first though.

I like this! See through tubs FTW. Below we can see the 'lightening' form of the mycelia (how it thickens up going into fruiting), and on top the overlay that other people mention.
From my observations the mycelia takes on different forms depending on what stage its at. Fine wispy while colonizing, 'lightening' mycelia while starting to form primordia(even before casing), and 'Fan-ing' mycelia as it rapidly fans through the casing.
Iv never had overlay but seems to me like its the fanning stage gone wrong. In nature they often like to come out of the folds between manure and inside those folds is where one can see this 'fan-ing' action but its not as obvious because its simply inside of a tiny fold of manure and not a whole casing layer.

Hi All Wondering if someone could advise- I have just started my pan journey on agar This is Pan Camby from FSRE
I tried to select some of the most wispy sectors from these plates, unfortunately I have bacteria on all- I think all my plates got contaminated
The first plates ( which I put spores on) are fine. However they have grown very fast since then and look more tomentose (sp?) Is this a potential problem with all pan cyan varieties or just with some ?
Shall I take some more transfers from these plates even though it will be from the aggressive chunky looking mycelium?

I am so excited to get these underway...cannot wait!

Nice one, thanks for the quick reply Asura. That's what they look like to me too- cottony and fluffy! I will take some pics when I go to the 'shroom room in a bit. Need to harvest the Orissa Indias, and make some more agar to make these transfers. Accidentally bought tiny plates so expect to see some silly looking photos soon! Merry Xmas to you bro. I think I will try some of those Orissa's in tea tonight
Thanks for the print again

Still kicking. Humidity has dipped to around 89-91%, not sure why but hoping it isn't too big an issue. Ended up getting the ole medicine syringe and doing a little watering around the bases of more pronounced clusters.

with just a handful of decent projects so far, i'm not an expert, but they don't look happy. what's your setup like?

The shoebox is in a dub tub setup fruiting chamber, with the soaked and drained perlite in the tub to attempt to keep up humidity. Until today it was registering around 93-95% humidity, temps between 75-82. Room humidity has been in the 30s and 40s.
I haven't been misting as I was under the impression that direct misting causes aborts. FAE has been from occassionally opening the dub tub as well as the lack of a perfect seal around the dub tub setup.
Not sure what I have available to optimize the fruiting conditions for these, but I'm open to suggestions even as bootleg they may be as I'd hate to have this stall out on me now.
I do have a 30 gallon tub, non clear, available if there's something to be done with it at this point to improve.
