Those are pre-colonized grow boxes I bought from a sponsor vendor. They sell these kits here in europe, they are legal to buy as long as you don't grow for consumption. Panaeolus grow kits are very rare though, usually they have all different sort of cubes. It's a new product, already sold out after a couple of days, and damn expensive too.
I already ordered some spores to start growing them by myself. Those boxes were a first test to see if I get this species to fruit at all in my room. Fruiting was no problem abviously, so once I manage to spawn some mycelium on grain / straw and horse manure (?) I'm fine I guess.
I have no clue what's in the subtrate of those boxes. There was an additional casing-soil I had to put ontop by myself. A mixture of coir and peat I think. Fruiting conditions were a plastic grow-bag that was misted almost everyday. The bag has some small holes for FAE, but whenever I misted I released the air almost completly and fresh air got inside. Temp was constantly 24!C /~75°F. First pins came after one week, that was 6 days ago.

Oh ok, I'm familiar with that kit. Tweeq grew some from one of those. It was Hawaiian variety the vendor called "Ogre Boy" or something like that. Interesting low tech way to do it. I think it would be pretty easy to do without a kit.

Yes, that's it, "Ogre Boy" they call it.
So hawaiian is the official variety? Any idea of the potency of that variety?
Growing pans from spores is my goal for 2020.

I've never tried the Hawaiians. I'm sure it's good. Come up with some more goals because we can probably get you fruits by February.

I'm about to spawn pan cyan 'gator' and I have a Red down under at 50%. I also salvaged several RDU kernels from one of the jars and have pitris of what looks like clean myc. I found trich and was able to get the kernels out before the contam produced spores. Lost one pitri but 4 are doing great. I need to pick up straw so I can spawn these. Finally have a nice pan lc using grain water.
Was thinking it would be cool to g2g these pans until my RDU is ready. Would be cool to have those be my first grow since it stays true to my germinating old spores theme. Should I slow play it? Or get one under my belt with these gator jars? The Martha is fruiting x7x trays right now but my temps are 75-80. I have an inkbird ready for the pans.

Every kit grow I have had over years past has been impressive..so far no disappointments.
I was also very tempted by these Pan grow kits. TBH there are 2 maybe 3 companies in Europe selling them between 45E and 60E. They ar enew on the market and last I checked all companies had them in stock (last week).
Its the fastest way to "get pans" I figure, but having played with kits before I have resisted the temptation...but it is also a good way to get loads of spore prints! Which was another temptation for me. But Asura and the FSRE sorted me out Lol
