Damn, 26 more posts to go. I really need to start posting more :stoned:
By the way I have been growing p. Mexicana using don shadows "shadow box" chamber, as I unfortunately had to dismantle my GH. If anyone is familiar with this FC, do you think it will suffice for pans?

I can't remember the specifics of the shadow box, but I'm thinking it's similar to what angam used for cambo's

Thanks for the link! The shadow box is essentially a PMP with holes around the perlite and a cpu fan mounted to the lid set on a timer. Works well for mexicana. When I get my hands on some pan spores I'll give it a shot and post results here!

Thank you kind people. Not sure if the hard part is over or just now beginning.

Regardless, it's been a rough year for me which led me to this forum and hobby and it's been rewarding in itself just to have something to focus my attention and energy on rather than the other issues I've been facing. Just want you folks to know that your information and knowledge makes a difference in the world, just in case you don't hear it enough already.

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've been on the forums. Really been itching to grow pans again, had a lot of fun with it the first time. Unfortunately winter is sub zero temps, and it would be a pain to heat a room high enough. Might experiment with just heating the greenhouse, but I'll have to figure something out. Best lucks to everyone and there grows, happy holidays and merry Christmas to all ho ho ho.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message. Have a wonderful day.

Pins are coming up quick now and I am thrilled. Not photo worthy just yet, but getting there.

Temps are between 76-82, RH is between 92-95%, assuming my gear is correct.

Only part I'm not sure about being necessary or not in the previously linked Cultivating thread is the watering with a syringe. Is that recommended regardless of RH and worth doing as the pins first come in on the first flush, or as long as things look hydrated enough it's not critical?

--------------------

Here's the grow log to this point.

11-1-2019: inoculated an all in one grow bag that had rye, manure based compost, and straw in layers. Very slow to colonize.

11-8: inoculated a bag of of millet with the same syringe just in case the bag didn't go anywhere.

11-26: Mixed entirety of grow bag together.

11-27: Mixed millet bag.

12-13: Mixed everything together with manure based substrate mix and put into fruiting conditions in my makeshift chamber.

12-19: First pins.

I have red down under germinated on wheat. I know there is trich in this jar but it has just started germinating after a shake. I have pulled several kernels of RDU moved to agar.

This is pan cyan myc 1000x zoom. This is the red down under that I'm trying to save.

This is what I suspect will be trich. You can see with the naked eye that the Mycelium is longer and less white. Under the scope you can see the spore structures forming and the different pattern and length of the Mycelium braches. These are the same scale pictures.

Hey, just wanted to get a recommendation on which pans to grow.
Which variety is best for enjoying a day out in the park with friends?
If I can put it more specifically, I'm looking for something with mood enhancement, moderate visuals, doesn't make you feel heavy and has less mind fuck.

Currently, i have spores for pan cyan jamaica, australia, senguio, and pan cam sandose.
I also have galindoi/ATL7, cubes ecauador and cubes mazatapec

any help is appreciated

I've only tried Jamaica cyan and Sandose cam. The Sandose were definitely stronger for me. Pans in general are a less heavy, mindfucky trip IMO...at least at about a .5-1g dose. The 2.5g Sandose trip I had was really intense, I wouldn't have handled that well at all outside of the house.

My experience is pretty limited though, and that's only my experience...I'd wait to see what others have to say too...

Anything over 1g I would keep to the house.
