So guys... i transferred a wedge, and some how i got mycelium looking fuzz on the sides of agar, i think water transferred them there OR they could be contaminants.
Not too sure because they're taking their sweet-ass time as if they're Pan mycelium. What do you guys think?

Ignore those speckles they're just parts of potato flakes that didn't dissolve...
And it seems that its still showing some wispy-ness on the outer edge, some of it seems like its eating through the agar again, could it be that I'm preparing my agar to be on the soft side?
Because i just eye ball my ingredients lol.

Those circles are contams, transfer far away from them. What is your agar recipe?

Recently tried straining by agar after dissolving it in water and have been very happy with how much more clear it is when this is done.

How many holes do you think this tub needs? It's huge, 100L with four 6qt minitubs.
Should I put holes into the minitubs? They are 4" tall but I'm only going to do about 2" of substrate in each one. I was thinking of lining up the holes of the minitubs and the outer tubs, one on each long side of the mini and stuffing the outer tub with poly

That actually looks good man, you could spawn that. Pan myc isn't nearly as thick as cubes.

You sure? Becuase i checked on em today, and it seems they colonizing like they're normal Pan mycelium, kinda weird, i think its due to the water on the agar before i put the transfers in, they might of transferred pieces of mycelium there lol, we'll have to see
They agar recipe is just normal agar from the asian shop, potato flakes, and a drop of karo.... Eye balled all the measurements lol

I never trust circles in dishes if you've already transferred a sector. For agar I use 2 teaspoons of agar and half a teaspoon of malt extract mixed with 250 ml of water. You could even cut down the malt even more, I heard the mycelium will spread faster looking for nutrients.

Right now I'm trying pan cyans on coir for the first time too, I ran out of manure. It shouldn't be a issue, gunna put them in fruiting conditions tomorrow

A typical agar recipe is 10 grams agar to 500 ml water, 10 G malt extract
I usually go between 5 and 10 grams malt extract. Lower nutes will give more ropey rhizomorphic growth while nutrition agar give fluffy tometose growth

Still trying to decide whether to switch away from pre-mixed nutrient agar. seems like mixing it yourself is the way to go
