The trick is setting everything up so that your casing stays wet but your sub does not get over-saturated.
I'm having better luck these days setting wider ranges on my humidity controller. I'll put the range to 92-98 instead of 96-98. Things stay wet plus I get better evaporation.
Overall RH seems to stay at a steady 95%.

You can grow in whatever. SGFC, mono...if you can get the required conditions. The recent pan Cambo grow is a pretty interesting low tech solution.
I've been playing with fruiting them in pp5 rounds inside of a mycobag.

Basically whatever works for you. Everyone's environment is different (outside/inside temps, outside/inside humidity, etc.) and plays a hand in determining what will work.

puduwoke, i do the same with the casing, sometimes it'll make it thru first flush without need to water, sometimes not. deffo need to between flushes.
I gave it a heavy mist 24 hrs after casing, and it’s been 36hrs since then so I’ll probably have to give a heavy mist one more time before the flush. How long until that? And I can’t seem to get my green house above 74f, will this affect my fruits? I’ll go grab a space heater right now if it absolutely necessary

Jbgtaa Did you see the thing I posted about using emergency blankets on the opposite side of the Martha as the heat source? Bumped me up ten degrees easily.

ime, 74f is just fine. i haven't had any problems with anything above 70f. i believe the much bigger concerns are air and humidity. if they're good, the temperature isn't so important. i use a heater for the sake of humidity more than temp, since i find the fogger does much better with warm water. which is to say, i heat the water the fogger is in which heats the tent. you can get a heater if you like, but it's certainly not necessary.
so two and a half days since casing, i'd look for pins in another two to four.
jcm, you want to run monos like cubes?

Yeah I wonder if it’s too much moisture or something.
But thanks. Looks like that print you gave me is doing all the work! Have some heavy pinsets coming in and fast. After I harvested the first flush these pins were all there and growing within another day. I never seen anything like it!

idk, too much moisture makes these things die outright. could be a bacterial thing from the casing or something?

That’s possible, I’ve had bacterial cubes before from too much moisture though that’s why I thought it could be that.I I probably shouldn’t eat any bacterial ones. I’ll have to figure it out so it doesn’t take over the grow.

I just ended up tossing the affected ones. But I’ll keep the tea thing in mind if it happens again. Because it looked pretty mild.

Is it normal to see the casing being colonized? Most definitely not a mold, probably just the mycelium reaching up right?
