Grey said: Alright, I finally have something to contribute to this thread. I germinated some Pan. Cambo spores (Thank you Mr. Fox ) on 33% grain water agar. They germinated after a few days. Here's a pint master I inoculated on the 5th via wedge.

I have a quart going as well that I'm going to spawn in about a week.
Nice thick healthy growth! Did you shake it yet?

Not yet. I'll probably shake the master when I spawn the quart. Keep things staggered.
Fox, no doubt. I'm ready...maybe.

Lol I guess Mr fox's eyes weren't lying, dammit you sharp-eyed fucker!
Just bacteria (bacillus) on one piece of grain But the other parts are doing great, fluffing up the grains with pure white beautiful mycelium
Cant upload pics anymore lol, it seems I've reached my weekly upload limit

Day 9 (1st day of fruiting)
Guys, this is super exciting Can't believe I made it to this point without any issues so far. *knocks on wood* When I checked the tub this morning, those primordia/pins were definitely getting larger. I was gonna take a pic, but I just wanted to case it already lol. So here it is!!

Casing: Jiffy seed starter mix, brought to field capacity and properly pasteurized, a small layer (about 1/4") was lightly sprinkled over the surface being careful not to damage the small pins.
Holes: All bottom holes were stuffed very tightly. I had to make sure the humidity would not be compromised due to the closeness to the surface layer and the amount of holes in the tub. All top holes were dialed in loosely. This should provide a good FAE boost to speed up pin growth.
Misting: I have not misted the casing yet. It is already at field capacity and should stay moist for at least a couple of days. I will keep checking everyday to make sure it doesn't dry out. If it does, I'll give it a light misting. Should I stop misting once pins pop up through the casing? What are your thoughts on this, do you think it will stunt their growth?
Lighting: I'm kind of lazy and don't feel like going out to the store and buying daylight bulbs right now. Have you guys had success with just natural daylight, or is a 6500K daylight bulb completely necessary for good pin growth?

WOO! It's a christmas miracle! I previously had made some syringes from a couple pan prints I got, to no avail. I sterilized some q-tips via Eat's new tek (I hope it's his, brain is telling me it might be Muda?) and swabbed those bitches instead.
Today I looked at them and finally I have some myc growth! On all 3 different species! So pretty soon I'll be growing Trops, Cambos, or Cyans depending which has the cleanest myc on my plates.
Tropicalis isn't too different from Cambo or Cyan, correct? Anyone have a particular species they think I should start with?
