I use a shower because of available space.

I'd go with a Martha if I could.

option 5) janky as fuck rack tent.

what's a don shadows setup?

i doubt monos will compete without some kind of forced ventilation and humidity management. i.e., jake's tubs.

If your going for yield I did rig up a mono tub system that far surpasses the output of the Martha. I actually stopped using it because it was too successful and I did not need that many mushrooms. I like them Martha because I can do a larger variety with them and I still get plenty of mushrooms for my needs

Could you explain what you have there? Or link to a description? From the pics it looks like a reptile fogger hooked up to a couple monotubs. I already have a few mini monotubs so modifying one or two of those would probably be a bit easier for me while I'm just getting into pans.

It’s the same concept as the “Jartha” just in tubs. I use a expansion chamber fogger and fan (also a o2 condenser but it’s not necessary) to accomplish the same thing as my martha system. The write up for both is in JOC pan tek in my sig
Also the tubs are a Lil more work than the Martha it requires more parts & adjusting to get em running conditions as optimal as I can get in the Martha

I'm taking a break from pans guys. Alabama's didn't fruit and I had to throw it in the yard bc of some yellow nasty shit going on. Also we still need a more suitable fruiting setup for them.

Trying my luck with Galindoi and semperviva as they are supposed to have more cubelike fruiting requirements so less of a learning curve (hopefully). Guess we'll find out soon enough.

I'll be back though!

Yes Mexicana/tamps are a good transitional species. What FC did u try to run the pans in?

Jake you rip it, so 7-8ph for pan casing. Thank you very much, just trying to get as much info to stick as possible so can continue learning.

I have tried dub tub low tech setups but I'm looking to build something like your automated monos when I have the time, probably early next year.

Taking it a little easier with the numbers of varieties and species growing at the same time and that seems to work well for me. Couldn't resist trying to grow the stone producers and semperviva though.

And for confidence we keep growing cubes. Still want to try to stabilize my lucy Cambodian into a 'variety' of its own.

Hi Jake-

How do you set up your mono with the required humidity and air conditions? Or do you have an optimized set of genetics?

Out of curiosity how do other species like stones producers or cubes do in a Martha style setup? Kind of wondering if it wouldn't make more sense to do a setup like that rather than try to scale down Jake's monotub setup.

Sigh my substrate got messed with so flipped it over, only got one good plate at least of a pan cambo, after that im sporeless for pans unfortunately. Just when was starting to get somewhere with this type.

If a martha is only a tent over substrate as opposed to individual tubs with fog lines I would think you should be just as fine, but jake could tell you for sure though.

Cubes do great in Martha's.

Yeah, cubes will run in Martha’s however if your following my design know that the tent gets dialed in differently for cubes. If I run the tent full tilt for pans cubes do not do as well. Even Mexicana require their own specs for optimal growth. It’s not hard to do just changing the cycling around. Mexicana like things a lil more moist and you don’t want as drastic of rh fluctuations. Cubes I dial back even more.
You can run cubes in a Martha but imo it’s over kill. Recently I’ve really been a fan of just running cubes invitro. You can stick em anywhere just about they require 0 work and you can get plenty from just a few bags. (Reishi does really well in them also)

Nice Jake. Yeah cubes like the rh in the mid 80's.
I wouldn't waste the Martha space on them. Just bags
or shoeboxes.

Man I've streaked some Jalisco to plates. Never grown
it before. What parameters do you recommend for those?

For the Mexicana/tamps I decrease the rh fluctuations. You don’t want it dipping much more below 70rh. If you try and give em too much dry  fae they will fry. So if I’m running a tent of just Mexicana undo the offset between the fog and fan and hydrate all my incoming air (I do turn the fogger intensity down tho) after a few grows you will start to get the feel for how you need to adjust ur system to achieve desired results

I might just bite the bullet and set up a Martha then, and keep the mini monotubs for cubes. I figure if I copy Jake's setup and timing it should leave me pretty close to where I need to be. Trying to scale down that monotub setup 20 quart tubs seems like it could take alot of trial and error to get dialed.

Wait what are you trying to do?  Setting up a martha is really intensive when dealing with cubes because they really dont need all the extra shit.

You can go VERY large on a monotub... You could do 2, 10qt tubs... Just do the traditional mono-hole set up and if you have the equipment, put it in a tent with a fogger/fan set up (on the floor) to keep rh at 65 to avoid misting. You dont have to build the whole thing for cubes, its really not worth it in my opinion...

That is totally my 2c and you can do whatever you want but bod gave me that advice when i posted in one of his threads that i wanted to use a martha for tubs. Said the raised humidity will not help the sub, and will fuck with pinning because of offset evaporation. Idk if that was totally the case but my pinsets got better and better when i just use a regular tub with a flipped lid (finding now that removing the gasket is just as good) and removed the intense humidity from my tent. I still have a fogger on a controller but my high boundary is 65%, low is 55. just keeps itmost enough so i dont have to mist. Sometimes i have to flip the lid. I keep a fan on a 2off 1on cycle. If i misunderstood your posts thats totally my bad.
